    Default Crankcase Breather

What is everyone using for a crankcase breather? Im running an 08 GSXR and currently have a K&N style filter right off of the crankcase breather box. Problem i'm having is that after a few races, it's leaving an oil residue all over the crankcase and surrounding components. Do I rout it back into the air box like it is from factory?

    Thanks.

I would recommend a separate can to vent your CC into. Any blow by will dump into it. Doesn't need to be anything fancy. On previous cars we would use an old plastic oil container turned upside down. Punch a hole in it for the vent hose, punch a few smaller holes on top for venting. Run the hose about half way down the can. Easy to empty when needed, simply undo the cap.

I don't recommend venting back to the air box, this leads to other issues.

The GCR stipulates the crankcase vent be routed to a min 1 qt capacity container.
    Give it a read!

And please don't be a douche and vent the CC into the same bottle as water so that if any steam gets vented it just blows the oil/water vapor out onto the car behind you.

Don't ask me how I know.

Be careful to make sure vent line and vent bottle is un-obstructed to atmosphere. I inadvertently pinched the hose once and the crankcase pressure blew the output shaft seal out.....talk about a mess to clean up.
