    Default digital radios - Speedcom

For anyone looking for hard evidence of the benefits of digital radios (as we were), my customer bought a pair of Motorola 200d radios from Speedcom at the Sprints, and I can say unequivocally THIS is the way to go. Clear and unbroken comm around the entire 4 miles !!

This was with only the short blade antenna on the nose cowl of an FA and a stub antenna on the radio on me.

Best part - Speedcom will lend you a pair to try with no obligation. He says none have been returned yet, and I've no reason to doubt it. AND, when you buy the digitals, he takes your old analogs as partial trade in.

When you hit the PTT button and speak into the MIC, can you hear your own voice in your headset or ear buds. Helps greatly to modulate your voice "loudness".

nope, not a bit; only thing we noticed was a slight delay in transmit that required a push/pause-a-moment/then talk

Side tone when transmitting (ie you can hear yourself talking in the headset) seems like it would greatly help , what radios offer that ?
