    Canadian Historic Grand Prix (Saturday)

Another beautiful day at CTMP (Mosport) with the temperatures in the Mid 30's and the sun just beaming down all say long. Things were set to get interesting.

Saturday Morning qualify, provided that the drivers were becoming more comfortable with the tracks, as the speeds increased and the times dropped.

Michael Iamundi set the bar early, laying down a 1:41:9 in the 3rd lap of qualify. This time would stand for the entire session earning Michael the pole position. Michael would be followed by closly by Ray Carmody, David Taylor, Guy Belliingham, and Barrett Kingsborough round off the top 5.

Race 1 would see Michael Iamundi and Buy Bellingham fight for the lead right off the bat. Swapping positions back and forth for the first 4 laps. on Lap 4 Michael would take the lead and never look back. Breaking away from the lead pack and drving to his second win of the weekend with a commanding 10 second lead of 2nd place Phil Wang.

Most of the race consisted of an 8 car lead pack, fighting back and for the for second position. Which would now include Phil Wang, Dean Curtis, Ray Carmody, David Taylor, Matt Garwood, Barrett Kingsborough, Guy Bellingham.

With 2 more races planned for Sunday the pressure mounts. Can anyone Challenge Michael Iamundi..Follow all the action at:

Canadian Historic Grand Prix (Sunday Day #3)

Well the heat was still on for Sunday racing...With temperature reaching near record highs, 21 cars from the Challenge Cup Series and the Millers Oil F1200 hit the track for the final session with both series combined.

As expected, we were off to am amazing start. Ray Carmody would start in 3rd, but jump out to the early lead. Michael Iamundi would retire early from the race with mechanical issues, causing a full course caution. Once back to green Ray and Phil Wango Tango to battle it out. for top spot lap after lap.

With Ray leading the last lap, Phil and Matt Garwood would use the draft to their advantage and overtake Ray with a couple of corners left. Top 5 would end up crossing the line with less than 1 second separating 1st to 5th. Finishing order:

    Phil Wango Tango
    Matt Garwood
    Ray Carmody
    Barrett Kingsborough
    David Taylor

Honorable mention must go to Guy Bellingham for charging from 21st starting position to finish 6th.

Race 2 on Sunday afternoon would have a smaller field of cars hit the track for the F1200 only points race. This race proved no less exciting. With Michael Iamundi starting from last place and charging through the field and taking the lead by lap 7. Once he had the lead, Michael would never look back, opening up a 9 second gap to second place. Where the battle was really brewing between Phil, Matt, Dave, Guy, Barret and Bill Mitchell. cars we running less than 1 second apart crossing the line fighting for second place. in the end, Phil would take second, followed by Guy, David, Barret, Matt and Bill.

This conclude and amazing weekend of FV/F1200 racing together the Challenge Cup Series and the Millers Oil F1200 series put on a show that will not be soon forgotten. Congratulations to all drivers and crew for a job well done.
