    2016 Tire Rack Solo Nationals Presented by Garmin VIRB
    September 05, 2016 to September 09, 2016.....Lincoln Airpark......Lincoln, NE

    Link: Run/work order - CMod= Thu/Fri
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I'm trying to figure out a way to get there. Towing from FL is not cost effective. I might have to settle for Wilmington. Co-drive feeler?
    David,
    Hope to see you in Wilmington in July for the Champ Tour and in Lincoln in Sept for Nationals. As for a Nationals co-drive, the seat in my car is taken, but I will ask around to see what is available.
    Take care,
    David,
    I'm in the same boat trying to make it to the National's, the drive is not my problem it's money and the time off, looking into different ways to get my car to the National's this year.
    The run days are one thing, yes we run on Thurs, Fri, but not sure yet if we run in the morning or the afternoon and I'm pretty sure that's not settled until the week before. Pru?
    As for a co-drive, a seat maybe open in my car but I need to ask my National Tour co-driver but because you asked first on this forum if he bails I will give you a call.
    Ben,
    First off, thanks for extending the co-drive offer to David; I hope it works out!
    Second, yes Run/Work order is released roughly a week prior to the event. Since the Solo Nationals have been at Lincoln, I think CM has experienced nearly every heat (and weather condition). In 2009 CM was either 1st or 2nd and in 2015 CM was 5th (and last). Speaking from experience, I would prefer an earlier heat, but I would gladly take the last run group if it's dry both days!
    Am I hallucinating? That looks like the exact same run order as last year.
    Yes, run days (Thr/Fri) are the same as 2015. Hopefully we will not run the last heat.
    The run day schedule is flipped from year to year and then some classes are swapped back to balance entry count.
    Default Group parking
    Does anyone organize group parking for CM ?
    Motel recommendations ?
    I'm working through my options (many, convoluted options: tow, drive, rent, fly) to attend, whether a co-drive or my own car.
    As for paddock, I would check with someone from your region/division as that is how the majority of the groups are formed. That is, there is no specific CM paddock group.
    For motels, travel sites (Priceline, Hotels.com, etc) have decent deals. We are staying closer to the site this year in the NW 12th St area (i.e. I-80 exit 399), but in past years we have stayed at one places on 27th St. The one thing to note is that, wherever you stay, you'll pay premium rate on Fri/Sat night(s) due to Nebraska football games.
    On whether to drive your own car or co-drive, I've done both. I enjoyed the co-drive experience, but now prefer to drive my own car as it's optimized to my preferences. Either way, come join the fun! Oh, if you do tow out with your car, I have someone who would be interested in being a co-driver.
    I'm still debating heading to nationals. Only thing I have run-able is the KM shifter kart. Sorry guys, the idea to run the shifter kart while stiffening the chassis of the rp-31 has only resulted in the rp-31 turned into a shelf.
    East TN region has a tent and whatnot lined up for the week. If I go, I will probably have more fun with folks than driving. Thats what makes me tempted to go tire warm for someone.
    As for going just for the experience (I keep hearing that given as a reason to go) I have worked the 24 hours of Daytona, SCCA Runoffs, ARRC and too many regional races where the help didn't show up. Solo Nats is a party compared to all that track side service.
    Driving the street car, 48mpg or riding out with someone else makes so much more $$$ sense than dragging my junk out there. sigh
    Default 2016 CM Solo National Entry
    With two weeks until the late fee deadline, 2016 CM Solo National entry stands at 12. A bit lower than expected, but I'm sure will end up with our average Lincoln entry (~18). I've called out numerous folks on the CM FaceBook page
    Default 2016 CM Solo National Entry : 7/28
    Two more confirmed entries in the last 24 hours bringing the total to 14 :
    94 Eric Clements Honda Van Diemen
    121 David Flesher 1988 VanDiemen RF88
    Given David's 1xx level number, I am guessing that Ted Visscher will change his entry from KM to CM.
    I also been informed of another co-driver entry being added shortly.
    Finally, there's a chance that Bryan Heitkotter may switch from STU to co-drive with Andrew Howe.
    Pru,
    I attempted a smart a.. um.. aleck comment on your post about Heyward and his trophy fodder response... but FB might not have taken it.
    I wont be test fitting the car on for size until after the $$$ goes up deadline so figured it would be safest to enter KM and switch at registration once we know I fit.
    It's my 25th year as an SCCA member, I figured I needed to goto nationals no matter what. I'm happy to tire warm.
    thanks David!!!!
    Default 2016 CM Solo National Entry : 7/31
    Two more confirmed entries bringing the total to 16 :
    146 Heyward Wagner Reynard
    177 Johnny Grey Billingsley Caracal Solovee
    Thanks Josh Parker for offering Heyward the co-drive!
    Johnny's 1xx level number suggests that John Whitling entry is forthcoming.
    Also, Andrew Howe changed his number to 170 in anticipation of a co-driver (Bryan Heitkotter or Jon Krolewicz).
    Finally, I expect the Brandon/Krystal Lavender entry to come in prior to the deadline. Ray Thomas is usually a last minute addition as well.
    Heading for 20+ entries!
    I expect Bob Qualkinbush to enter with his Adams Aero, and possibly Colin Moore.
    My Reynard will be back next year. Maybe the SoloVee, too.
    The entry cap of 1300 has been reached. I understand that Topeka has rented an extra 30 acres to enlarge the paddock. The practice course will be farther north.
    Nice summary Pru! AM cars appear to bend space-time, especially if you see a 'regular' car on the course just before or after.
    Good luck to all the competitors! I plan to see you at the 2017 Nats in #93!
    From my point of view, perfect draw; I like running early and starting on the west. Looks like a nice draw for the 2 run grouping as well as CM is the largest class of the heat :
    DSP : 15
    ESPL : 1
    DPL : 2
    EP : 16
    CM : 25
    FSAE : 4
    STPL : 0
    Total = 63
    Make it 26 in CM. I fit and my Panasport rims fit. Attempted to modify my entry online and it does not seem to be cooperating. Guess I will get it changed at registration check in, out in the land of planes and corn.
