    Default Momentum tests F4 car

Momentum Motorsports has successfully tested our first of two new Crawford F4 cars at Roebling Road Georgia.
The test included three different drivers of very different skill levels, a professional test driver, a competitive F2000 driver and a recent Skip Barber graduate. All agreed the car was easy to drive very forgiving and had great feel. The car performed flawlessly throughout the two-day test, it exceeded our expectations as did the support we received from Crawford Composites . We at Momentum Motorsports could not be more pleased with this car and the people behind it. Our second, factory supported test will take place shortly. Drivers interested should contact Momentum Motorsports as soon as possible, seats are limited.

As this was the first time out with the car our focus was on mechanical systems durability and just learning the car . We purposely did not place a beacon as we requested drivers not to drive 10 tenths. But to incrementally increase their pace to a comfortable level without jeopardizing our car . We have learned that the setup on these cars are different than what we're accustomed to. For example car likes more rake than a typical formula 2 litre car. Camber values are very different. Each adjustment was recognizable by the driver. The car has very nice adjustment windows for the various settings we experimented with. Our next two day test as mentioned above will be more about lap times.
Once again we couldn't be more pleased with this car from the initial performance, the quality of construction the fit and finish and the response from Crawford for any questions or concerns we've had have all been remarkable. All anyone really has to do is get a good look at this car and drive it and they will want one of these cars.

Congrats Phil & Phil Jr. For anyone not familiar with Momentum, these are two of the hardest working guys in auto racing today...

Default Video now at link above

    Very kind Dennis,

The Face Book link above now has a video at the straight of Roebling. Sadly the audio DOES NOT do justice to the Honda.

Seems we are unable to place video directly here? should anybody know how to, please PM me on that.
    Thanks!

Funny that the video shows a guy with a watch yelling that the guy in the car just went two seconds faster...so much for no timing info. I was really just curious if the cars were turning time s faster than FC or FE. The mystery of F4 in the US continues, I guess. The car does sound good though.

I have zero info on lap times but I am willing to bet the car will not be close to FC times. It won't matter that it isn't close to FC though as everyone will be in the same chassis, same engine, same tires and all will have a chance to win based off that alone.

Car will be heavier and have more drag then FC's do.

Steve is correct... and thats whole point of this car. It is an international formula

FIA 1250 lbs. for this class
We also ran a pair of 2 litre cars which were faster.
