    Default 2016 Schedule!

    The US Formula 1000 Championship Fueled by Sunoco has released its race schedule for 2016. This season will feature a more compact and focused schedule and will once again culminate at the National Championship Runoffs, this year at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

    The Championship will kick off the season at Road Atlanta in March as part of the 3-day Majors event. In April, the series returns to Virginia International Raceway for the Oak Tree double Majors. Mid-Ohio appears on the schedule for the third year in a row, giving teams a sneak preview of the upcoming finale. The final two regular season races will take place at a venue that will be announced in the coming weeks. The Series Champion will once again be crowned at the season finale during the SCCA National Championship Runoffs in September at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

    Race 1 and 2...March 19-20...Road Atlanta, Braselton, GA
    Race 3 and 4...April 16-17...Virginia International Raceway, Alton, VA
    Race 5 and 6...June 4-5...Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Lexington, OH
    Race 7 and 8...TBA
    Race 9...September 19-25...Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Lexington, OH (SCCA Runoffs - Double Points race)

    With the announcement of the 2016 schedule comes the opening of series registration.
    Registration with the series makes you eligible for championship points and the soon-to-be-announced prize purse. You’ll be listed on the series website and you’ll receive all the series decals plus a 2016 commemorative series shirt.
    Like last year, we’re offering a discounted entry fee to early registrants. Sign up before March 1 and pay only $250. After the early bird deadline, the registration fee goes up to $325.

    The US Formula 1000 Championship Fueled by Sunoco has completed its 2016 schedule with the announcement of race 7 & 8. By popular demand among the series drivers, the final two races of the regular season will be held at the famous Watkins Glen International Raceway during the June 25-26, 2016 SCCA Majors weekend.

    In 2015, J.R. Osborne swept the Watkins Glen rounds, taking two poles and two wins before going on the win the national championship later in the year. With Osborne’s retirement, the Watkins Glen rounds are wide open so expect to see any number of drivers at the top of the results in June.

    The final 2016 schedule:

    Race 1 and 2...March 19-20...Road Atlanta, Braselton, GA
    Race 3 and 4...April 16-17...Virginia International Raceway, Alton, VA
    Race 5 and 6...June 4-5...Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Lexington, OH
    Race 7 and 8...June 25-26...Watkins Glen International, Watkins Glen, NY
    Race 9...September 19-25...Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Lexington, OH (SCCA Runoffs - Double Points race)

    Great schedule Mike. Some of the greatest road racing courses in the USA. We have some fast FB drivers in Florida and hope they can make some races. Joel and Shane have really come on the last two years.
    I'm in for some shirts and a contribution as always. Good luck this season
