Default Formula Fords to Race at Schenley Park!!!

The Royale Formula Ford Challenge Series will be joining the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix at Schenley Park this year. Formula Fords last raced at Schenley in 2010, and we are so excited to be included in the series for 2016 that we are making it the first race of the afternoon on Sunday.

    Details:

    • This will be part of the 2016 Royale Formula Ford Challenge Series and points will be awarded for participation ONLY. Racers that are not able to participate can make a $50 donation to PVGP and will receive the same 50 points toward the series. Since this is an exhibition race, a special reduced rate of $300 has been extended (regular entry is $450).
    • 3 race sessions (65 total minutes) –Saturday morning practice 20 minutes, Saturday afternoon Qualifying Race 25 minutes and Sunday afternoon Feature Race 20 minutes.
    • The Sunday afternoon race will be the first race after Sunday’s Opening Ceremony. Racers will start from the grid and proceed at pace speed to turn 14 along the golf course where the green flag will start the race in front of crowd.
    • These races will be tightly regulated for all sessions – this is a challenging street circuit with stone walls, sewers, light poles and irregular pavement.
    • Laurel wreaths will be awarded in the Hofbräuhaus Winners Circle at start/finish line following the race on Sunday.
    • There will be a special paddock area for Formula Fords on the grass under the giant Oaks in Schenley Park.
    • Racers are eligible for the same events and amenities as our vintage racers: Friday night Driver Reception & Parade, Saturday BBQ, 3 race sessions, dedicated paddock area, Winner Circle ceremony and inclusion in Race Program and driver gift.

Please apply for the event at: http://www.pvgp.org/drivers/pvgp-his...es/formulaford/

Default Sixth Race Added to VRG Royale Formula Ford Challenge Series

We're delighted to announce an additional race to our 2016 calendar. The Royale Formula Ford Challenge sponsored by Hoosier will be joining a VRG event Oct 20th to 23 at the new Dominion Raceway (www.dominionraceway.com). Situated midway between Washington DC and Richmond, just one mile off I-95, the new season-ending series race begins with a test on Thursday, followed by qualifying and racing Friday through Sunday. Track management is so excited about having VRG and the Royale Series come to their new track that Saturday and Sunday are being promoted as a spectator event to the public.

The two-mile long counterclockwise circuit has a 2,700-ft main straight entered from a tight right-hander, ending with a fast sweeping double apex into the short straight before the tight technical section, then into some fast esses. The mix of turns, taken together, bring Summit Point to mind. There is a big investment in facilities so time at the track should be really pleasant. Away from the track, we'll be in the midst of civil war country with quite beautiful countryside (and peak fall foliage), close to the emotive Appomattox Court House where Lee surrendered to Grant, ending the civil war.

We'll have our last party of the year (should be a good one) and celebrate the class winners with our new awards. From those three the Shoemaker Cup will awarded to the overall series winner for 2016. Put it on your calendar – it will be a great experience and we are promised it will be gentle on the pocket book.

Default WOW ..... Exceeding Expectations in 2016

For those who have not attended an event, the Royale Formula Ford Challenge Series has been a HUGE success to date and we are heading into the fall season with even more to offer!!

    • Overall 50% better participation at all events participating in the series
    • An abundance of track time, tell me an event with more?
    • Cost Effective, show me a better deal in the NorthEast?
    • Race Event Parties, that make holiday occasions look like a dinner for four!

As we head into the Fall, the Lime Rock event has over 25 entries; largest field of Formula Ford since the 40th Anniversary. NJMP - Lightning Course is at the end of September and will have the added bonus of partnering with Morici's Formula 40th Birthday Bash to create one epic gathering of formula car enthusiasts. Did I mention, Morici's record setting run at Schenley in a Vintage Formula Ford; YES on treaded Hoosier Tires. Then we wrap up with Watkins Glen and Dominion; don't do one without the other or you will miss out:

    • $100 rebate for attending both
    • Year-End Celebration at Dominion

Just think about it .... Who else is offering a legendary track like Watkins Glen and hopefully what will become a premier track such a Dominion Raceway (Mixing the old guard, with the new) in a back-to-back format?

    See you at the races!!
