Default All Generations of FF's Invited - RMVRs' RAKC

The Rocky Mountain Vintage Racers will be hosting their 6th annual Race Against Kids' Cancer on July 30 & 31, at High Plains Raceway, just east of Denver.

Again this year, Formula Ford will be the Featured Class. That means, ALL generations of Fords, even Honda powered ones, are invited to come race with us. Each of the past 3 years, we've increased the FF count, to 50 in 2015. Let's see if we can't get that to 60 or 70 or more! I've heard tales of that being the norm "back in the day".

This wonderful event raises $1000's for the benefit of the Morgan Adams Foundation, who in turn provide funding for Pediatric cancer research. This important event is a lot of fun and growing. Last year we had over 130 cars, including the 50 Formula Fords. Randy Pobst even came and raced with us!

Please put this on your 2016 racing calendar, plan to come to Colorful Colorado, bring family and friends, vacation here, and have a blast. Watch for further information. Also, check the RMWR website for updates. www.rmvr.com

Default Had a great time last year!

    Folks,

This is a great event. We trailered in from Austin, Texas last year and throughly enjoyed the weekend. Great place to go when it's too damn hot in the southwest to race. The Rocky Mountain organization did a great job. High Plains Raceway is great fun to drive...nice surface with big elevation changes. Only in Colorado would they put the S turns on a downhill slope and call it "to hell on a Bobsled"!

I already registered for this year and can't wait for summer. Highly recommended. Great driving, great people and a great cause.

    Glenn

Default RMVR's 2016 Race Against Kids' Cancer, July 30/31

All generations of Formula Fords are cordially invited to the Rocky Mountain Vintage Racer's 6th annual Race Against Kids' Cancer on July 30 & 31, at High Plains Raceway, Byers Colorado - just east of Denver. http://highplainsraceway.com/

Again this year, Formula Ford will be the Featured Class (FF only run group), with all generations of FF's invited (including Honda powered). Last year we had 50 FF entries! In addition to the FF's, we had over 80 other cars, including a large group of FV's, some FB's, SR's, and many Production cars in both Big Bore and Small Bore classes.

This year we have added the Rally Against Kids Cancer, a Road Rally from Denver to High Plains for non-racing car enthusiasts. Also new, the BMW vs Porsche "shootout" for all race log booked Bimmer & Porsches, Vintage or Modern. Add to all that, Lunch Rides - Racecar rides at speed, a Dinner and Band at the Sat. Eve. Party. And once again, Grid Girls! And maybe even a Grid Guy for the lady Drivers. (Rides, Dinner & Grid Girls/Guys require separate donation.) Ross Bentley will be back this year, giving one of his Speed Secrets talks, and Randy Pobst, who raced with us last year is hoping to join us again. Reid Hazelton will be back, here's your chance to beat Reid. Bueller? Bueller?

Last year we raised nearly $150K to benefit The Morgan Adams Foundation, http://www.morganadamsfoundation.org who in turn directly funds Pediatric Cancer Research. This event is one of MAF's biggest fund raisers, with the majority of donations raised by the Drivers and Workers soliciting "Sponsorships" for the Race. The research MAF funds is having a profound effect on treatment and cure rates of Pediatric Cancer. This important event is a lot of fun and getting bigger and better every year.

So come on out to Colorful Colorado, bring family and friends, race High Plains with us, vacation here, and have a blast. Check the RMWR website for more information on RMVR http://www.rmvr.com or register for the RAKC.

And if you can't make the Race, and would still like to support the cause (or get more information about the event), please go to:
https://raceagainstkidscancer.org/, select the Donate to a Driver or Worker tab, and "sponsor" anyone you like. You can even sponsor me!

As been said previously...this is a wonderful event. Very low key and relaxed...and for a good cause. Jamie and his wife Carol are the best hosts you will find at an event like this.
    Attend if you can...great event!
