    Default DUFFUS #4 at PittRace

    Hi,

Registration is now open for Da Unoffical Formula F United States or DUFFUS championship race at Pittsburgh International Race Complex on October 16, 17 & 18. You can register on www.MotorsportReg.com. This is the fourth and final race of our series this season.

We will be racing in support of the Formula Race Promotions pro F1600/F2000/FAtlantic championship finale and NARRA. We will be on track twice each day. Friday will be two practice sessions so everyone can get familiar with the new long course layout. Saturday morning will be a qualifying session and Saturday afternoon will be race #1 of the weekend. Sunday will be races #2 & #3.

We do not have a final daily schedule as yet, but we will publish it here when it becomes available. I do not have any information on a Thursday test day at this time, but I will post that info here as soon as I can get it.

The entry fee is $500 and we will be racing Formula F, Club Ford, Vintage Club Ford and Vintage Formula Ford. We will have kill stickers for the podium finishers in each class of each race. Trophies will be awarded to the podium finishers in each class for the final race of the weekend.

Please come and join us for really full weekend of open wheel and GT car racing at PittRace.

    Thanks,

    Joe Marcinski

Looks like 10 registered already?!?! Wow!

This will be the debut of my "new" engine.

Does anyone have gearing to share for a Club Ford on standard club Hoosiers?

    Default CF gearing

I've been asking around about gearing, and it seems that people are running the same gears on the longer track that they ran on the shorter one. For me that means:

    20:32
    22:29
    24:27
    24:24

That's in a Zink Z10C with 9:31 ring and pinion and standard Hoosier R60 CF tires.

    Default Entry list

Hey Joe, something's up with the entry list. I haven't registered yet, but I'm listed. Doug is also shown in the DB-1.

Yes, there is something that I did incorrectly. I tried to clone the event from our event there last year. I thought that I had cleared out last year's entrants, but apparently I was not successful (I have already called myself a DUFFUS, thank you!).

I will get in touch with the very kind folks at MotorsportReg and have them help me get the entry list cleared.

I will post when that has been done.

My apologies, but that is what you get when the chief registrar is a digital dummy!

Ok, got it corrected - sort of............. When you go to MotorsportReg select the event titled "DUFFUS 4 PittRace". That is the "live" event registration site. I have been able to transfer the entries for Mike Rand and Will Velkoff over to the live site.

I am trying to delete the previous event but will need the help of the kind folks at MotorsportReg. If you see the two sites you will see that registrations have been suspended for one and the other one is open. Sorry for any confusion.

In the meantime, please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions. I will find someone smarter than me to get answers for you

    Thanks,

    Joe M.

Default DUFFUS at PittRace Weekend Schedule

    Hi,

Just got the weekend schedule for DUFFUS #4 at PittRace.

Friday Practice #1 9:10 AM to 9:35 AM
Friday Practice #2 2:35 PM to 3:00 PM

Saturday Qualifying 10:15 AM to 10:40 AM
Saturday Race #1 3:45 PM to 4:15 PM

Sunday Race #2 10:15 AM to 10:40 AM
Sunday Race #3 4:30 PM to 5:00 PM

This is pretty firm, but as we all know schedules do often change during the weekend.

    Thanks,

    Joe M.

    Default More Entries PLese

This should be a great weekend !

We can watch what the "Pros" are doing and all get faster!

I was really hoping for a field of at least 15.

I promise the weather will be good
If not, I'll have a nice heater going in my trailer - anyone is welcome to come warm up. I'm in a red Haulmark with an American and Hoosier flag flying off the back.

I got a good weekend in on the racecar so I am registered.

If I saw right, that's 4 FF and 5 CFF so far.

    Default DUFFUS #4 at PittRace

Now that the Runoffs are done it would be great if we could get a large turnout. Hoepfully drivers such as Wes Allen and Bill Valet will decide to close out their seasons with a just for fun outing at PittRace with DUFFUS.

For those of you who have not entered as yet or have entered and not yet sent the entry fee; please bring your checks to the track. I have to go to Seattle on business and will not be back until very late on Friday evening. I will collect the checks on Saturday morning so I can settle up with FRP.

Bob (Wright), could you tell us what the load in times are on Thursday?

    Thanks,

    Joe M.

Doesn't every one race "just for fun"?

I'd love to see Wes and Bill there too! Maybe get some more behind the scene stories about the Runoffs. Congratulations to both, by the way - very impressive.

Are all us DUFFI going to paddock together in the same area as last year. I thought that was fun.

Thank you Maureen, 4 PM Thursday load in it is.

As for the parking; one of the other three DUFFI (Dave, Phil or Doug) are going to have to fill in to supervise the parking. My schedule has changed and I will be in Seattle all next week and won't arrive at the track until early Saturday morning.

There may be another variable related to the opening of the new extension of the track. I have no idea if the same area that we used last year will be set aside for the DUFFUS drivers. I don't see parking as a big problem, but I won't be there on Thursday or Friday to help coordinate.

I will see you all on Saturday.

I'm not sure about the organization for this event but there was no change in the overall parking with the course extension.

    Hope your event goes well

    Hi Joe:
The Pro guys use the main paddock along with NARRA.
Some of the NARRA guys are along the front straight near the officials tower, so that leaves the paddock area along the remainder of the front straight (last year's location) and the area across the road from the front straight has doubled in size (all paved).

Look forward to see you all there,
    Dan

    Default Sorry

Well looks like I will not be able to make it. The Bowman frame is now one piece again unlike the 3 pieces it was after the NARRC race. Sticking throttle has been fixed I think (broke secondary spring). But I will be joining Joe and Dave on business trips this week that will not allow me to make the tow to Pitts.

    Dam work.

Default Recon - Fri at 8 am

I found the overall schedule on NARRA's website (http://narraonline.com/). The schedule is a link to https://app.box.com/shared/static/17...ho0a9uq2us.pdf . The drive around aka recon is from 8:00 to 8:15 on the schedule.

Arriving late Thursday so see you all at the track on Friday.

P.S. Sorry work is getting in the way of some folks fun. Hate working to pay bills.
