Anyone know whether trap speeds are posted anywhere. I'm hearing rumored speeds approaching 150.
The one part of SCCA's 'live timing' that seemed to work was the trap speeds. At start/finish some were getting over 150, 151. I'd guess they would have a few more MPH before T1. Rick Payne was 153, but I expect that was in the draft. Looked like he was with Kautz for a few laps.

Live timing used to be a RaceMonitor feed and it worked every time. SCCA seems to have 'fixed' it and now has some form of their own that hardly works.
The SCCA Live timing includes more car info (engine listed) as well as top speeds. A Formula F going 153.8 MPH, I wouldn't have believed it...

Wow, 153.8, and it's listed as a Honda. Even more unbelievable is an F5 reaching 155.
For those who don't know. The secret to me being faster than I have been before is Dan Campbell. He has been preparing my car since just after last year's runoffs. Yes the same Dan Campbell that designed and built the Vestal FF car.
any info on tires..i assume most up front are skinny all around, Hoosiers but maybe Avon's ...any radials...all 4 front radials...at those speeds stuff has to be rolling along pretty good
Very interesting that no Mygale's and only one Piper are entered?? It's nice to see the Kent back in the mix closer to the tip..
Bill went faster than he expected today but then so did everybody else!
The name that really stands out to me is Larry Hendrickson. Into the 2:03s! For those who dont know him Larry is an "older" gentleman, one of the nicest guys around and he has been having a terrific racing year.
BTW Larry has a beautiful bright blue DB-6 with a Kent and I would bet he is on fat Hoosier rears but I could be wrong.
Congrats to Larry and everyone else. Good luck the rest of the week everyone.
Some Pepper Bowe photos from Sundays test day, open wheel session with some of the FFs shown.

One heck of a draft going on there.
I would worry about the big one.
Please be careful everyone.
Hendrickson is being wrenched by James Lee.
fat tires
Morgan got bumped out on the first hot lap... so he has to stay to tomorrow.
Hey, I most like seeing a DB1 in P8. I wonder how he would do in a Vintage group..
Caldwell D9B - Sold
Crossle' 30/32/45 Mongrel - Sold
RF94 Monoshock - here goes nothin'
I watched Mondays qualifier and there was not any drafting to speak of.
i was expecting something like a f1600 pro race.
In the stands with Tim Kautz sunday, he said something to the effect, "Image the kids out here, they would kill each other!
Also really pleased to see Larry H doing well. We've raced with him for several years, a real gentleman, and continues to improve every year! I doubt I'll be in an open wheel race car at 70+ years old. And Kudos to James Lee Racing!!
Hope everyone has good luck and it's a fun close race for FF.
PS: Go Jim Morgan!

I also wish to say that Larry Hendrickson is one heck of a nice guy and deserving of any sucess he can find at the Runoffs.
Larry was a PA resident and we were often at NE races together when both our cars were prepped by Leslie Racing.
Larry, Good luck and be safe out there!
Best Wishes,
Greg Kokolus
