    Default FormulaF - Runoffs 2015

Wow, 2 weeks out and not a word. Skinny's, Ford or Honda, aero updates.....not a word. Looks like a real roll of the dice this year. All I've gotten is a ban on inter-class bump drafting. So, who's looking strong? Hard to bet against some strong locals, or a defending champ, or maybe some random Swift specialists. Someone has to keep the rest of us updated.

My guess - Tim and Jeremy work together to break away. Third is a toss up. Max has some serious horsepower but I am not sure the aero on the Spectrum is up to the Piper and Citation. Last laps in all classes will be very interesting to see who parks it in the chicane so they are not leading coming on the the front straight.

Benson has had the fastest trap speeds at Road America during the Runoffs so he could be the wildcard if he doesn't give up to much in the infield and runs a smart race. I'd put him as the fastest Ford. Then again I see Louis Cooper at the bottom of the page. Louis - you going?!

It will be exciting to watch, ugh...watch. I hope someone can do a little reporting on the aero changes people are trying. I doubt that will get any coverage on SpeedCastTV.

    Default Swifts

Looking over the entry list there is no shortage of Swifts in the field. DB1, DB3 & DB6.

Second largest Formula car field behind FV. Now that would be a great pack of drafting Vee's to watch.

I want to see how the aero of the Vestal works at Daytona. I wouldn't overlook Michael Lewis.

Also a while back the sky was falling because SCCA didn't make cooling fans illegal. So who's showing up with a fancy aero package using cooling fans?

When does qualifying start? Did Tim and Jeremy race against each other at all this season?

I don't think Jeremy has been out much at all this year. Pretty sure he is using his Champions exemption to race.

Benson (db-3 89er/Cricket Farms) has a very strong Kent - As i recall last Sept at the SARRC he went a very low 2:0410 - Jason G Mid 2:0465 (db-1 [bought by me when he was born 9/13/85-ugh]/Quicksilver) and if anyone rules out JRII (db-6/Cricket Farms) you are making a BIG mistake !!!

And lets see what Valet brings to play !!!!

Drafting partners and position (obviously) will in all likelihood be the key to success

    lc3 took a pass this year ...........

    Frog,

For starters it is hard to strut in a 15 year old suit that has mysteriously shrunk. I think waddle would be a better description.
Secondly to suggest that I would engage in openly underhanded actions to gain an advantage is dessspiccabble (to quote Sylvester)
I believe that I should have enough respect from my fellow competitors to expect only the highest level of dirty tricks.

    skinnys and kent will win

I haven't been out to his shop in forever. I didn't realize he defiled the mclaren too, although I probably should have assumed it was going to happen.

The first session was damp, then dried out, with just a couple of light sprinkles the rest of the day.

Only one FF tested, was using the cantelevered rears on the aero Jongbloed wheels.

Heavy rain forecast for Thurs evening and Friday.
