Default New Pro Mazda chassis for 2018

    http://www.promazdachampionship.com/...-chassis-plans

I wonder what this will do to the value of the older car? Any guess on the cost?

You mean the older car that has no place to run competitively in Club racing and as of 2018 no place in a Pro Series? Lots of cheap cars for Autobahn Country Club members!

    Default Common chassis

If I read it correctly its a common chassis and engine with the USF2000! This is an opportunity that may save a team some money as they move thru the ranks., unless they get stupid.

What the new car costs will be irrelevant I'm afraid.
There are non-2015-USF-compliant ProFM cars on the market for 40 cents on the dollar now; this is absolutely not going to help ..... (sorry Steve Jr)

I predict values will skyrocket as they reach instant vintage status

If anybody wants in early, give me a call LOL

Nah, PFM has already pretty much hit bottom at $40-50K. As usual, you'll get what you pay for if you go cheaper or higher than that. Cheaper will need repairs, higher will come with spares or recently replaced parts and overall great condition.

All the pro team cars will make lots of choices for anybody looking. And parts might just become affordable for club level so maybe a few more will infiltrate regional racing.

I saw that too. Does common engine mean the PFM will have a turbo? Can you extract 270HP (their stated target) from a naturally aspirated MZR? Also isn't the MZR dead since 2011/2012? I thought Mazda had moved on to Skyactiv.

I know the current PFM is an FA in club racing now, and many have been raced, but are there further mods that could make it more competitive? Bigger tires, wings, diffuser? Do other engines fit in it? If it's a good car that's about to be homeless, why not find a way to make it more a contender in club racing.

it would be nice to see mods allowed to make it more competitive in FA. I don't believe bigger tires would help, I think the disadvantages are in straight line speed vs Swift 014 and 016.

I wonder what just a wider front wing would do, if it could just help reduce drag from the front tires.

Pardon me if this is a stupid question.

"Is there room for a turbo?"

There is always room for a turbo but I dont see the engine holding up very well or very long if one is added.
