    Default Pocono Round up

    Round 4 of the Challenge Cup was held this past weekend at Pocono Raceway, with 14 cars participating, new comers Bill Roche and Hugh Maloney joining the fun.

    Race 1, saw Masters championship leader and local favorite Dean Curtis win for his first victory at Pocono so congrats Dean. He was followed home on the track by Garrett Villano, Chris Elwell Matt Garwood who ran nose to tail throughout the race and were the top three in the regular championship. This being Garrett's first win in the series. Chris capturing the quickest lap of the race.

    Rounding out the masters podium were Johan Wasserman and Greg Davis who had their own battles during the race.

    Saturday nights party raised the bar. The party featured local band "Social" and was held under the big top( Thanks Barry)

    Race 2, again saw Dean capture his second overall and masters win of the weekend followed by a tight 8 car train early, but by the end was a back and forth race between Jack Maloney, Ray Carmody, Chris Elwell and Matt Garwood, with Jack established the fastest lap of the race.

    Masters class top three were Dean followed home by Ray and Johan.

    Other then Dean's sweep of the weekend the competition was close and intense and again clean.

    On another note over $950 in cash and prizes were handed out during Saturday nights party so thank you to all our sponsors.

    Great to hear that Bill Roche has returned to FV after racing in a different class. Does that count as "bringing a garage queen back to life"? I don't think his car has seen the track in a while either.

    Greg;

    I raced the vee last at Thompson, October of 2014.
    The Challenge Cup thing is a good product and makes a lot of sense. I definitely plan on doing more!
