When did the larger manifolds become ineligible? We were told during our conference
calls last fall that it wasn't going to change and only the races in Canada would exclude them? Why are we running Canadian rules in the US??

The rules are not Canadian rules .
They are the rules that were accepted
By the board of the Challenge Cup series
They were decided on so that regional racer
Could come out and run and be competitive
without having to spend the money on a
monster manifold , I know we can't make everyone happy
but it is getting a little tiring that ever time we try
Someone has something negative to say!
I believe the people that have worked hard and
raced with the Challenge Cup have enjoyed themselves.
That's all we are trying to do.
I look forward to the Pro weekend and hope we can entice
more racers to an affordable venue.

    FVHopeful,

I attended several of the conference calls when the rules were being determined
and there was no indication that the manifold was going to be excluded. What about
the racers who have ALREADY spent the money on those manifolds? Did you take
that into consideration and if you want to grow the series as I've been told, then
you're requiring those with the manifolds to spend additional money. And regarding your little jab at those who haven't raced, I and my son will be at the PRO race in two weeks @ PIRC and look forward to seeing you..

    Mark

P.S.: I'm in favor of the series and wish it all the success possible. My only complaint is the manifold and wish it was handled in a different way. I do believe
and have expressed this to Ray that these rules will end up saving FV in the long run. Maybe we can have a subgrouping for those with larger manifolds or allow them to run without getting any points? Who know's but I do appreciate the hard work that's gone into making this Challenge series happen. No rules are written in stone, so you're going to need to not be offended when an individual doesn't 100% agree with them etc....

    RS,

Sounds good! I don't know about better, but definately stronger than some of our p##s
water beer. Hopefully we can run other locations with the larger manifold and just skip the points etc......

    Amon,

I think the manifold rule is good, considering there is a new manifold out there that is superior to the "monster" and I heard $1400...

    Guys....

Arguing will get no where. No rule set is going to make everyone happy. At the end of the day we have to agree on one and move forward in a effort to grow the class.

We will all have a different opinion of what will, or will not work. Tires, manifolds, weight..we are not perfect.

Let's bring FV/F1200 back to what it used to be..

    Large fields
    Driving skill
    Single grids
    Great fun for all....

And let's do it as cost effectively as possible...

If there is one thing we can do better next season, is work together with other regions to ensure races do not conflict with one another. Let's see success from all regions not just one series. In the end we will all benefit.

Seems such a shame to have people on the track that are non-compliant, whether racing for points and trophies, or not. Hopefully someone can loan or rent Mark a manifold. I have a really good Challenge-legal manifold I will rent out for $100 per event. Been top-5 at Runoffs many times. I will be there from Wednesday on.

    Al,

There are currently 50-100+ of the Monster Manifold's in circulation, including at least one in your garage. Comparing it to the new $1400 Super Monster Manifold with less than five in circulation is not a fair comparison. The horse is out of the barn on the original Monster and those who have made the purchase shouldn't be punished for doing so. Since no one in the Challenge series has a new Super Manifold, banning it
before everyone gets one wouldn't be a burden since they're not in circulation yet.

Have a nice weekend and I'll talk with you next weekend my friend!

Greg: Thanks for the offer but we're there to try out the new tires and we're not worried about points or trophies, and they should go to those who have participated all year long in the series!

Ray, got the car back together and waiting for the gasket sealant to set up. Fill the tranny tomorrow and pray for no leaks....
The video with the new section looks awesome! PIRC may at last have a real race track to brag about.
Thanks again for the help with the parts.
