Default Forewarned is forearmed re Carbotech rear brakes

The new Carbotechs are so good that you'd be wise to take hard look at your trailing arm axle flange. We had a weld failure on the first weekend on new carbos which I believe was caused by the high frictional force rotating the flange on a good aftermarket chromoly trailing arm. New linings on all 4,very light pressure required for big stopping power. They're great but we'll need to strengthen the arms. Protoform p3.

Brake force has been the bugaboo of leading arm cars for years. I first experienced this on our Mysterian about 1995. We had reinforced the arms on all our leading arm cars since then. We also made U shaped brackets to bolt on and distribute the braking forces more evenly since that time.
