Default BEMC First Challenge Cup Weekend

The first weekend went off without a hitch, Great racing, Large Turnout, Weather was amazing, and most everyone brought cars back in 1 piece.

At the same time a call out to the guys at Summit Point for getting a great care count there as well.

40+ cars across 2 events in the First weekend of May...Not bad

Couple of pictures...Results to be post later..

A very big thank you to f1200 group, BEMC and workers for a wonderful weekend. For our first weekend running together things went very smooth. Saturday night party was greatly appreciated. I had comments from BEMC, workers and other competitors about how it was the best racing of the weekend. So to all the competitors thank you for your participation. Congratulations to Steve Davis and Rich Shields on your Major wins at Summit and I second Noel's comments. Look for to the next event. Results are posted on Challenge Cup website
    Thanks Robert

I just wanted to thank all involved for a great weekend - BEMC, the F-1200 group and the Challenge Cup organizers for an outstanding event.
Seconding Dennis, the racing, camaraderie and the helpful attitude of our Canadian hosts made for a great weekend. It was also an awesome experience to run at such a legendary track for the first time.
I would also like to especially thank Bill Mitchell for taking so much of his track time to "tow" me around and show me the proper line-thanks again Bill!

    Default Wasn't that a party!

Just to add to the chorus - What a great weekend of racing! Thanks on behalf of Jeff, Scott and myself to everyone involved.

Thanks to the F1200 and Challenge Cup guys for all the effort. Great job all round, guys. Delighted to see Noel alive and looking so well on Sunday. You too, Harry.

Great to have such a strong contingent of friends up from the States - always nice to run into you guys - Sorry Al. And of course, it is always a privilege to race again with the famous and renowned Ray Carmody.

The Challenge Cup is a great initiative and we want to support it as much as possible and see it flourish.

Thanks always to Bill Vallis who has done more than perhaps anyone to make F1200 the successful class that it is in Ontario.

Thanks to BEMC for a well-run event and for moving our race time and allowing our many American friends a better time to make the run back home.

Congrats to our friend David Taylor for his win in the closer on Sunday.

I don't think we say thanks often enough to all the great people from CASC and all the marshals and other volunteers that are the life blood of regional racing. They make it all possible and work hard to keep it as safe as possible in our sport. THANK YOU.

I am sure I have forgotten to thank someone and for that I can only take the traditional Canadian approach – and say I am sorry.

Jeff and I have been running in F1200 for 30 years and, although some would say my memory is not what it used to be, I can’t remember many weekends that were more fun than this last weekend. Thanks!

    Bill

Oh behalf of everyone involved, this has been fun to put together and organize. The fact I was not able to race was a bit of a bummer for me personally, but seeing the expression on peoples faces, speaking with the organizers, Race Director, Competing Series, Nothing but praise for everyone at the track. (drivers, teams, family, friends), made my weekend.

In my previous post I was remiss in failing to thank Bill Vallis for the loan of the tires and rims I used over the weekend. Thank you again Bill!
