    Default FSV?

    Hey guys,

    I am considering this car....

    http://race-cars.com/carsales/ralt/1...83416197ss.htm

I am having so much fun with my Crossle 35 CF that I am considering another faster
Vintage car. Entry level wise, this one is affordable, but what are the caveats about these? Are they SRF reliable and cheap to fix? lol, or are they affordable to campaign if you take the time and investment to prepare them properly?

In the alternative, I am considering a FB not an f-1000, but a Vintage FB.

Thanks in advance for your input

They are anything but reliable and cheap/easy to fix. Then again, no race car is. The engine is fairly high-strung and parts for the engine are scarce. Parts for the car are available from a few sources if you are lucky. The price as shown is way too high IMO. That said, it is a nice platform to start with and the car is fun to drive. It is a 1999 that has been back-dated to 1996 rear suspension. This was the way to go. Attention to detail and careful preparation go a long way to making it affordable.

A vintage Formula B will use a Lotus/Alfa/BMW TC motor which are way more expensive than the Super Vee.
