Default RMVR FF Feature - August 1-2 - High Plains Raceway

Once again RMVR is having FF as our weekend feature grid at our Annual Charity Event Aug 1-2.

This will be the third year we've featured FF. Last year we had 39 FFs. Yes, RMVR is a vintage club, but this special weekend FF Feature again invites all Formula Fords, even contemporary cars. However, the field of 39 FFs last year was almost entirely vintage ('72 or older) FFs and CFs (up to '81). There were also a few newer cars. We hope to equal or exceed that number of cars this year.

Entry fee just $275 with three track sessions each day and a Lapping Day available on Friday (rent from the track) for another $150. Darn good value for the money. Not to mention a big party on Sat. night and significant rewards for fund raising efforts. Details forthcoming soon. And did I mention Grid Girls?

Combine the trip with some vacation days visiting to colorful Colorado. Bring the family.

Online Registration isn't yet open, but put it on your calendar. HPR is a heck of a track you need on your bucket list. I'll post when online registration is officially open.

That almost makes me want to tow out there from Ohio.

But it would cost a ton in gas .... and my 1990 van is not the most comfortable....

Just try to remember, it's not real money, it's race money.

Besides, gas is CHEAP these days!

Long, uncomfortable, expensive tow? Oh well, it's well worth it!

But seriously, if you've ever seen kids with cancer, or what their families go through, you'll feel no more than a minor inconvenience, and be grateful you were able to help out in some small way. Oh, and one of the Grid Girls was herself a cancer kid at 16, and is a survivor. Seeing her there made everyone realize how lucky we are, and what an opportunity we have to just maybe be a part of helping the next kid.

    Default Thanks Pegasus!!

Everyone should know that Pegasus Auto Racing Supplies has made a generous contribution of some nice tools sets to our 2015 RMVR Race Against Kids' Cancer, benefitting The Morgan Adams Foundation.

One more reason to support this great company that does so much for the FF community because they're supporting pediatric cancer research. Thank you Pegasus!!

The Grid Girls aren't vintage eligible, but they are of significant interest to the vintage racing community...

Registration for RMVR's 5th Annual Charity event (Aug. 1-2) is now open. Start planning now and enter ASAP. RMVR doesn't "hit" your credit card until race weekend. Cancellation fee not incurred unless done late (72 hours before event.) So no harm in entering early.

Once again Formula Ford is the featured grid. All FF's (even FITS) are welcome. There will be three classes, vintage FFs, CFs, and FF-New (newer than Monoposto's CF, including Fit engined cars) Just select class as FF (ie. vintage), CF (Monoposto list), or FF-New. Last year a 30+ grid. More this year is expected.

If you have a MotorSportsReg profile, add RMVR to your list of clubs and see our "2015 Race Against Kids' Cancer."

Or check out RMVR's website, www.RMVR.com, The Events section will give you full info on this very cool event. And remember, if you chose to help by fund raising for this event, there are Special Fund Raising Incentives for 2015:

This year our fund raising incentives are designed to make it easier for you to get your race car on the track. We're emphasizing incentives that will help you go racing. The Top Fundraiser will win some really great stuff including a full set of Hoosier tires (racing or street) plus free mounting and balancing from On-Track Tires. The total you raise will determine which of two other drawing pools your name will be added. All pools will have great stuff, most of which will help you go racing.

    • Top Fundraiser – Only one winner here, so get going!
    • Pool #1 – Those raising over $2,000
    • Pool #2 – Those raising over $500

    Default Fast Forward Sponsorship

Thanks to Doug & Doug Jr. for offering a $250 product credit for Fast Forward Racing Products to the winner of the FF Feature race on Sunday the 2nd! The Learned's are big proponents of pediatric cancer research funding and have stepped up again this year to support the Morgan Adams Foundation with this generous contribution.

So, if you win the race, you've all but covered your entry fee with just this one contingency. It's been a cool summer in Colorado so please come and join us for this terrific race!

Default RMVR's Race Against Kids' Cancer

Just over 40 FF's signed up and still counting! I think for the 3rd year in a row this is probably the biggest assembly of FF's in the country.

It's not too late to make your plans to come and join us for this terrific event in support of our efforts to raise money to fund Pediatric Cancer Research. It's only a $275 entry fee for lots of track time and a terrific party Saturday evening.

Yup, the Grid Girls are back this year to keep you cool (or at least looking cool) on the grid.

And here's a video invitation, straight from the lips of one of 'em.

So what are you waiting for? By the way, as of today, there are over 45 FFs entered. Be there or be square.

CLICK HERE to register and see the list of current entrants.

This promises to be one of the best FF weekends of the year. With six days to go, we have 47 FF's registered: 29 VFF (vintage pre-'73), 10 CFF ('73 thru '81) and 8 MFF ('82 and newer). Need three more to reach 50! Come to beautiful Colorado, race High Plains Raceway and help support a very worthy cause.

Default Randy Pobst to Race at RAKC!

One more closer to a FF field of 50 at the Race Against Kids' Cancer with Randy Pobst just offering to come and race with us this weekend! Randy will race a vintage FF and possibly one or more production cars at High Plains Raceway.

One of our big fundraising mechanisms is our lunch rides that we do at speed on track in race and exotic cars. This year we have scheduled to come some spectacular cars such as a Porsche Carrera GT, Lamborghini Huracan, BMW i8, some Ferrari's and other really fun cars. Randy will be driving one of these so if you're in the Denver area or know someone who is, come on out and encourage others to come to buy a lunch ride in some really great cars.

If you're not coming - sorry, it's going to be a hoot! It's still not too late....
