Default BEMC / Challenge Cup - 1st Race @ Mosport (CTMP)

Just received word that the Chief of Tech for the event, will be able to provide annual SCCA tech for US cars. He is a licenced with SCCA to do so, and will sign off with an SCCA #.

The goal is to set aside a block of time for the FV/F1200 to do all the annuals at once going from PIT to PIT to make things easier than getting in line.

Any questions please fell free to reach out.

    Default Tech

Great news ... I was a little concerned 'cuz I usually get my annual done at the 1st event of the year.
Does he take payment in "Blue" or "Golden" :-)

Near the track there is nothing. You will be about 15mins away in Bowmanville area. Where you will find a Hojo, Holiday Inn. As JustDave mentioned, there are a handful listed on the Reg page.

Reminder for all US drivers, the Cost on Motorsports Reg is in Canadian Dollars for the First event. Current Exchange rate is 27% so you are saving a bunch right now.

    $1.00 US = $1.27 CDN

Peterborough is another option, it is about 20 minutes north of the track. There may be more decent rooms there than Bowmanville. Still another option, the Residence at Durham College/UOIT. Try Google.

Just to follow up on a question, there is no need to pre-pay for the event on Motorsportreg. The key is to get everyone registered.

Current indications it will be a 20-25 Car field for the first race.....

But it's in Canadian dollars, so it's practically free for Americans!

Your right, that's not funny. I remember way back in the '80's a first race weekend of the year being cancelled due to an 8" snow blanket covering Mosport. (or was that the 70's)

You're up to twenty entries already! Likely some last minute entries as well so congratulations to all involved in helping to grow the grid.

I agree Steve, the support we have had from so many people has been very encouraging and we're looking to grow the series in coming races. Thanks to everyone, the racing this weekend should be exciting. Just wish I was running.

I think we are looking at possibly 6 more entries. So a field of 26 cars for this weekends race will be outstanding.

Thank you to everyone and their efforts making this come together.

I will have details on FV tech times within the next day or so. Will post the info.

Have spoken to Chief Tech for the Event.

There will be a FV/F1200 only TECH session at 4pm Friday. No need to bring cars up any earlier. They will set-up a line specifically for us. Please instruct if you would like a CASC or SCCA tech, as both will be available.

Thank you to Mike and His team for making these arrangements.

    Good Luck to everyone

A wise move! Toronto traffic on a Friday afternoon / evening is brutal.

The Sunday evening drive back can be pretty painful too.
