    Default VW Engine Rack

A while ago someone posted pictures of a big shelf or "tree" that was made to hold VW engines. I haven't been able to find the post, but I remember it being a somewhat novel storage solution.
Does anyone else remember this or did I dream it?
I'd like to copy the idea to get engines off the ground and out of the way to my garage is a little better organized. Right now they're on dollies and I just have an "engine corner" they all hang out in ...pretty inefficient use of space.

I don't know the specific "tree" you speak of, but multiple stands like this could be fabricated to stack engines vertically. Just have to take into account the engine weight as a cantilever load. http://www2.cip1.com/ProductDetails....C%2DC10%2D1410

This is the one. I think I'd like to copy the idea, but use mounts similar to the engine stand

    Edit:
Not sure why the pictures aren't showing up anymore

Lol, so funny to see pictures of the rack here, I had it built when I went to get a core engine and ended up with 10 of them. RDC welding in Vancouver B.C. Built it for me. It could be lifted with a engine hoist from the top. Life changed and I sold all the stuff I had including the RDC formula Vee to the Family Affair Racing Team here in B.C. canada. I was also setting up a Stuska engine Dyno, they got that as well.
Looking at getting back into a Vee, the collecting and building starts again.

    Thanks

    Lawrence,

Look at this Womer, if Chuck still has it, it's a darn good deal - not too far from you.

Hey Lawrence, glad to hear you're getting back into it! I knew that engine stand looked familiar... Unfortunately, the engines haven't been taken off of the stand since we got them... and you know the story on the RDC... But we did get the dyno running! Hope to see you on track in the near future, the Zink and the Lazer are making a comeback! (Zink may take a while though )

Shhh. Wife does not know yet. Already found a car, got to travel to see if I fit. Lol
Going to try a vintage formula Vee as i enjoy restoring as well as racing.
If I don't fit I may have to rent my old RDC as I modified it to sumo size. Lol
