    Default help me with identification

hello, i bought this car the other day, i really have no intention of racing it, but i was told it is a formula 440 car. it appears to have a honda fl350 engine, but i am not even sure of that. any help would be great.

    Post your question at f500.us and/or formula500.org.

That being said, the foot box shot you posted makes me think this car was never a legal F440/500. Looks much more like a modified back-yard go kart or something home built to drive around in the cove.

it is a very well built cart, all the aluminum work is riveted, the gas tank is under the back support of the seat, the welds are very good and all the joints are spliced nicely. i dont know anything about these carts but i am not inclined to believe it is a one off cart made in a garage. but i will post over there too. thanks

that was my initial thought, but it only appears to have the rubber puck style rear suspension and no front suspension

That may be an old Marquis Stinger built in GA. they had a tub chassis like the old Belmont f440s. But the body work is more like a Holtzclaw Scorpion F440. Go to this site to see scca piece on these cars. The Scorpion body work may have been modified. The tub chassis was used as flex chassis or the suspension for the cars. When the class started out they had no real suspension.

Grandma Agnif "persuaded" the guy there to let me out on track when I was 14 since the place was empty and I was a big time gokart champion from NY and Nana had cash. Well, I did have a 3Hp lawn kart at home. The guy kept me out there for over an hour since I was 1/10th off the lap record and he wanted to see if I could beat it. Every time I came into pit lane, he would waive me through. I think that day is what sealed it for me on what I wanted to do with my life. It was either be a racecar driver or own a strip club, since Nana took me to my first one in Miami a couple of days later. God I miss that women!

Racing is by far the safer choice.
