    Default Datsun 510

I am interested in purchasing a 510 car. A project would be great. I won't buy anything with rust, that's my main requirement. Doesn't have to have Newman/Sharp provinence, but I would pay more if it did. Car will be used at SVRA COTA in another run group than my FF.

Rick Kirchner, sources for these dimes?

If you plan on finding an old street car to build up, good luck. The '69~'73 vintage 2 door cars are very difficult to find and nearly impossible without rust. If you find one, expect to pay for it. The more common (now) 4 door sedans are heavier, longer and don't make the best racecar.

This vintage of this car was THE car to have in my high school, the GTIs came a little after that. Since the Seattle area was a major import port they used to be easy to find. I wish I could find one as well, they were really fun cars.

www.Futofab.com is a good friend, Dave Patten who is a long time SCCA Datsun guy. He's reproducing a ton of Datsun 510 sheetmetal overseas and is now up on his site.
