    Default Sebring claims new victims

Andres and I ran the 3.7 mile 12 Hour track at Sebring this past weekend. He took the win Saturday when the notoriously bumpy surface reduced my exhaust collector to a collection of pieces. However, the Silver Bullet recorded the fastest time of the weekend at 2:37:512.

On Sunday neither of us finished as Andres ejected a spark plug at the Green Flag while I again had to pull off with exhaust problems. This track requires extra effort in securing what you've got (including the driver) as the big teams discovered many years ago.

As usual the weather was fabulous!

The horribly rough track at Sebring has kept us away since the 1980's. When they fix it we will be back - I am not holding my breath.

Your post title scared the **** out of me. I thought someone got hurt.

We (work) ran a two day test there specifically to prove our car could take it. Great place to run a door-slammer. Open wheel, not so much.

    Go big or go home.

Imagine winning, or even finishing a 12 hour race. It becomes a medal of honor for the mechanics, car prep guys.

Guys like James Lee know how to properly prep a formula car for Sebring.

It's probably one of the best track's in the world for R/D. If it doesn't break there...you should be good to go.

BTW, you're not the only victim.

I went to Sebring in 1978. By the time the race was over on Sunday, both front shocks were dead, the baffles in my gas tank (no fuel cell) broke loose, and something else I don't remember was dead. I see nothing has changed
