Contact current FV racer Kim291 on this site. Her first FV was an RCA. I'm pretty sure she was able to collect a bit of the company history. However, she may have let that documentation go with the sale of that car----perhaps she can put you in contact with whoever bought the car.
They were built in Azusa, CA from about 1967 into the early 1970s.
He sold both kits and built up cars.
If you google Race Car Associates, you might find some info.

Ex-Bruce Hunt car? If so we've done a bunch of work on that chassis... It had some Rube Goldberg stuff on it years ago ;-)

Hunt purchased the car from Jim Barcheck. Jim was a long-time ICSCC racer and then SOVREN later on. I believe he and his wife still are around and can track down their contact info if you like.

Bruce's brother David may be able to tell you more as well. I'll send him a message.

Next week I plan to join sovren, iscca, and the cascade sport car club so i could go through their novice program.
I am open to suggestions, my real goal is to whatever i need to do to be able to run the FV in the vintage races. im in portland area so hope to keep it close to home to help with my busy schedule.
Thx,
W
Cascade has a great novice program, they're part of ICSCC conference and there's at least four regular vees running in each conference race. I believe Sovren recognizes the ICSCC license. I'll be at the rose city opener, hope to see you there.
You should plan to do the NWMS races in Spokane, it's great deal three races for the money and novices can upgrade and save a lot of money. Plus it's a great bunch of folks to run with. The FC guys are fun to watch and they rarely run over the vees ;-)

"...rarely run over the vees" LOL, thanks Jim!

I made the road trip today to pick up the RCA FV. It seems to be in pretty good shape. Its parked in the shop and ready to remove the body panels and start in with a deep cleaning before I address the sorting process. Been going through the log books and all receipts of work done over the last 25 years. Extensive work done histroy is good but also a little scary to how much all this work was and may be down the road.
I did find an interesting hand written letter from the origional owners of the RCE/RCA cars talking about the car manufacturing history, number of cars built and also known cars that were destroyed in major shunts as of the time of the letter.
Crashless seasons = less $$.
Glad you got it home and had a chance to look at the paperwork!

I race a 1969 RCA formula vee in VSCR and VSCDA (Minnesota). Just started out a few years back. I have some factory literature that I could scan and email if you wish.
If you google RCA formula vee, you will see mine...same color as yours, #8.
Call or email if interested.

That's a cool looking FV, I like the body style, like an old Cooper.
When Hunt got it the nose was cut out. Got kind of wet when it rained, hence the plug.

Was the car picked up near Monterey Ca?
No, i bought in Bremerton Washington outside seattle. It was raced for a number of years with SOVREN by a gentleman out of Spokane who I hear was active and pretty competetive.
How many of these were made?
