Default Video of the Aussie 2014 Formula Vee National Titles

Hot off the editing suite, all Formula First and Formula Vee fans will love this great edited highlights package of the final race of the Aussie 2014 Formula Vee National Titles held last weekend at Phillip Island on the Southern Australian Coast, taken from the great Jacer F2K14 driven by Tim Brook.
Tim started from pole in the great Jacer, but locked brakes into the Honda Hairpin on lap 1, and then raced through the pack to get back to the front, but the Victorian Sabre onslaught was too great.
The Titles was won by the great Mat Stubbs from New Zlnd via Melbourne driving a Beacham Racing Sabre.
    Great racing!

Good stuff. Three wide through corners on a road circut , good racing and it was anybodies race. Thanks for posting.

Independent of wether this a FV, or FST, this is a fantastic video! I am pretty sure this is why most of us race. Yes we had races like this in the "heydays" of the 90's throughout the US in both Natioals AND regionals. We still can produce Runoff finishes worthy of this video. I do not want to start the FV vs. FST vs. car counts vs. better exposure to newcomers vs. blah, blah, blah all over again.

GET OUT AND RACE YOUR CAR NEXT YEAR!

The only thing that will change your class/status/participation is actually going to an event and participating. It doesn't matter if it is a regional, a national, a stand alone event, or a designated series, get out and support your class.

    ...that is all....

That was intense. With such close competition, I'm curious as to the qualifying strategy. Do you try to get in with a pack so as to have drafting advantages, or do you try to get some "alone time" so you can pick your brake points and race line?

Phillip Island is a draughting circuit.
You must be in a pack all the way around to get a fast time. Pushing air around will be slower.
The smart drivers pool their resources and agree on a strategy.
The flipside is that winning at Phillip Island is almost like winning the lottery, although the experienced Victorian drives seem to have that sixth sense on right place right time on the last lap.

    Ray,

We do the same thing here, but typically after the first lap, it's all out the window

Road America (and the old Brainerd) are just like this if you're in a pack. I've always said racing at Road America is like a chess game at 100+ mph.

Great video, thank you for posting

Thats awesome! Love the way the cars look! That looks like an attractive car! If we had something like that here in Canada I would consider staying in FV/FST. The Aussies did a great job promoting the new age of FV over the past 15 years.

There are (2) Australian Jacer cars (currently in FST) in NA. Both came into NA through Dan Purdy in Canada. One of them was the F1200 champion a few years ago with Guy Bellingham driving. So your now looking to re-purchase an FV?
