    Default Hewland Mk8/9 case work

Looking for someone who can clean and dress an old Mk 8/9 case. One of the lower mounting holes had a crack and was professionally welded. Since you can't get the original cases any longer, I would like to have this case cleaned, drilled and preped as a spare. Aluminum cases are expensive and still require a great deal of machining before use.

Never done this before. Always got a new case when a crack developed. Suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks guys. Tried Scotty several times with no call back. Williams knew exactly what I needed and has several Mk9's in the shop having the same work done. I'll try them.

    .... and

If you need new shift forks go for them from Lee and replace at least, 1/2 & 3/4 ... Just made a purchase and just looking at the quality, you can see the upgrade .........

Buy an old VW beetle case to rehouse the internals most cases eventually fracture with age as well as an incident or 2
Currently rehousing the March gearbox into 1 of 3 cases acquired for the future
there are single and twin filler cases and they do have different bearing around the pinion.
Small machine mod needed to the reverse idler i recall to do to convert Beetle case to a racing case

    Hi Scotty,

Thanks for the followup. My case only needed cleaning and one mounting hole drilled out. Case is already at Lee Williams shop.
