Here is what I posted on the Sports Racer forum:

I was totally unaware that I passed Fabian under the Double-Yellow -- much less that it had been displayed for 3 flag stations previously. When showed Fabians's in car video, the flags were clearly out at the top of the Corkscrew as I went by. I was running very close behind him, and totally focused on how I could get by. When he slowed, my first thought was I must have missed a yellow flag, so I started looking for the incident. I didn't see anything from my position down to T10, and did not see a flag at T10 (although apparantly it was there), so I figured it was something else, or I had just cleared the incident as I completed the pass. When I got to T11 there was a waiving flag for a spun car on the exit curb, and the first double-yellow I saw was at Start/Finish. I never even considered that the flag condition was double-yellow at T9.

I am very embarrased at my lack of flag awareness -- I guess I needed to race more prior to the Runoffs to keep my skills up. Or maybe I need to avoid shaded visors (I normally never wear sunglasses)

I'm sorry the 2014 National Champ Fabian Okonski didn't get to take the victory lap...

Very classy statement David. You clearly had the car to beat.

You have done a beautiful job converting your car to the P2 spec's.

    Good luck next year
