    Default Homestead major FF

Formula F I believe had 14 cars finally entered, and here is the SCCA's web page report for Run Group Two FF qualifying ....

[Whew ....... glad I had time to read that one !]

... and then here is there Saturday race report ...

"Run Group Two: Jack Walbran, of St. Louis, Missouri, took the Formula 500 class win in strong fashion, finishing 1.298 seconds ahead of second place Russell Strate, Jr. Driving his No. 67 Mitchell Racing Scorpion F500, Walbran is a staple at Majors events - most notably in the Mid-States Conference.

Charles Hearn, of Houston, eked out a narrow 0.011-second win in his No. 37 Noble Racing Vortech Formula Vee over Russell Fredericks. In fact, the racing was so close that third place Laura Hayes was only 0.043 seconds behind Hearn at the finish."

(They did have a pic of a FF)

Thanks SCCA for your web page/report and support for Formula F !!!!

Thanks for the clarification. I saw Benson out at L13 and JR out at L14 and assumed.

I hope they both get back out today.

Does that mean that the Kents are competitive at Homestead? From 1200 miles away. it looked that way on Saturday. Twenty-plus year old cars too!

Did Benson do a full engine swap or was it another issue on Saturday? Either way both JR2 & Benson seemed to be very impressive over the weekend.

I followed with the live timing, Benson had checked out and JR2 had a decent gap to third well past the halfway mark before they ran into issues. Glad they both got sorted for the sunday race. New lap record in Saturday's race for Benson. Miss not getting south to take these races in, anyone running the new pro series tire?

EJ, congrats to you and Jason on a great weekend, you guys keep getting faster and faster.

I shouldn't have poked fun at the Fords, kinda wishing we still had ours in the back. Bill says the car has not been the same since the conversion.

Funny, I thought dropping a Honda in instantly made everyone 2 seconds faster. ????

I think it has been said many times in the various Ford vs. Honda threads, that a fresh top Kent would beat a Fit.

    In Jimmy Buffet's most famous ballad "Margaritaville", the last chorus;

Yes, some people claim that there's a woman to blame,
And I know it's my own damn fault.

    My take on going fast..
    70% driver
    20% chassis
    10% motor

Give or take a little, prep & optimization of equipment important
