These two have kept me entertained for many weekends. Rest in peace Tom.

Yes, a sad day. They have been so much fun to listen to for so many years. RIP Tom.

with a special thanks to every SCCA worker (NONE OF US WOULD RACE WITHOUT THE WORKERS)
For many many years I have worked Saturday and NPR with the Tappet Brothers played in the background - invariable a silly question come up - (loved the imitation of "noises" made by the call-ins) and they have the Answer delivered with humor and wit ....
Rest Well ..........
Every Saturday I'm at the shop I have click and clack blaring on the radio, thank you Tom for all the great moment. Thoughts for your family.
Same here (Saturday routine). They sure have provided a lot of good over the years. You wish people like that could be with us forever.
I love the Tappet Brothers ! Always a good time listening to them wherever & whatever I've been doing. Still remember several distinct episodes from many many years ago. Many of us have considered these guys to be dear friends, even though we just listened on the radio. You will be missed....
Godspeed !

I think it was Tom that said, "I'm the man in my house and I always have the last words...even when they are "Yes, Dear!""
RIP, Tom.

This show is easily the best thing on radio. I listened every Sarturday morning. I know they stopped making new shows a couole of years ago, but this is sad news.

Nice story on Fresh Air (Terry Gross) this morning. Interviewed Doug Berman, and excerpts from a 2001 interview. There was one part where Tom was trying to tell a story but he was laughing so hard he couldn't finish the story. It sounded like his tears from laughing caused him not to be able to read the rest of the story (it was about a percentage of people who spontaneously start talking French). Also included many other funny stories. It's probably available on the NPR web site today.
What a great laugh.
