Steve Burkett Race Admin worker of year

I just read the article In this months Sports Car magazine about Steve Burkett of Southern Il region being named Race Admin Worker of the year. What a well deserved honor and recognition. We race at Gateway where Steve and all the other St Louis & Southern Il members host regionals. I can say first hand that they set the gold standard for how race weekends should be conducted. Their hard work and dedication shows and one result is that we are holding the final Hoosier Series race of the year at Gateway in October. We will be bringing as many as 15 Formula First's to their Regional race from as far away as New York. National SCCA and struggling regions need to study how the folks do it there. They get it right! I agree with what Bill says. I walked away from SCCA racingyears ago, but I got convinced to try the St Louis group. I tow nearly 10 hours one way to race there. It by far is the best SCCA Region I have ever been exposed to. I am getting ready to make my 4th trip there to race in the last year. Job well done

I had the pleasure of meeting Steve at Gateway Motorsports Park this Summer for my first SCCA races. He was more than helpful to a first timer. Congratulations Steve!
