Forum Registration Question

I'm just wondering who can I talk to about a friend of mine. He has been trying to register here and the site keeps rejecting him. It don't believe his name is really Dave Smith. He is on Dave O'Leary's crew and would like to read the writings here. Hope someone can help.

There are a few of things that could be preventing him from registering, as I have not seen his registration come through the system yet, so that narrows down the reasons that he would not be able to register.

• One, he might be registering from a blocked IP from outside of the US. Not likely, but it's possible. We have had almost a half-million fake registration attacks over the last year and a half, so we have to block certain IPs from the site.

• Two, he might not be filling out the required information completely. If he is filling in Location as "Earth" or somewhere that doesn't match his IP address, his registration will get bounced.

• Three, if he is trying to register with a simple username like, "Dave," the forums are linked to an International Spam Registry, and usernames like that will get kicked out as spam.Try something else.

There are not many things that could prevent someone from registering—most are user error, but there are a few firewalls that we have in place. If he is still unable to get in, the last resort is to contact me directly at info@apexspeed.com.
