    Default 67 Formcar

I have my old Formula Vee that I raced in 1977 at Summit Point. The log book says it's a 1967 Formcar. It's all there and I would like to restore it. I haven't been able to find any information on a 67 Formcar so I'm not sure if that's what it is. It was wrecked before we got it. I was told it might be a 65 Formcar frame with a Venus body but I have never heard of a Venus. Any information would be helpfull. I'll post a picture when I figure out how.

    Default 65's?

Joe, We helped a couple of local guys assemble two '65 Formcar kits that had never been put together and have pictures of them . If you like I can scan them and send to you. Hopefully you can ID your chassis fron them. They do have serial number tags welded on the top of the chasis tube toward the front, can't remember which side though.

You might also want to drop by FormcarRegistry.com where a good many of the formcars are listed. You might find someone close to you with a complete car of similar year model.

Thanks, that would be great. I'll check out the Formcar website. I've done some research but haven't had much luck. I'm sure the Formcar guys will help. I'll try to get a photo soon.

I would take Lawrence up on his offer and also talk to Butch Deer. The Formcar Registry is a bunch of broken links and dead emails. I got no responses from anyone at that sight when I was researching the Formcar that I had.
    Good luck with your project.

I'll try to dig up the photo album with the pics of the build and post them.
It was very cool to assemble a kit from '65 that hadn't been put together. Lots of the packing materials were newspapers from those days in Florida. They were really basic kits, comical in some ways. Some of the parts didn't fit too well though. I think they tacked the frames together on a jig then welded them later. All the welds are stick as you can see the slag hammer marks at the joints.

I just bought a couple of these. A 1963 and a 1965. In the process of identifying these as well. Have logbooks and all. They are ex-Beau Gable cars. Soon to be restored.
