    Default VIR Thread

VIR has produced some insane FF races in the past few years - like Goughary winning by inches in 2011 or Starrantino's double last lap passes last year

Who is coming next weekend? With the "lead pack" this year it should be fun!

Expect great things from the new surface. It's like grip tape! Records will fall if it's anything like the Spring Sprints earlier this year. You guys don't have wings so the difference might not be as great, but the new surface is truly top notch! It makes other tracks seem antiquated.

And the really great thing about it is the fact that it didn't change the flow of the place. Sight-lines and reference points will need to be adjusted, but the feel will be [still will be ] just right.

Is this considered a spectator race? We won 2 tickets to any spectator race and would like to come up tomorrow from Raleigh.

Yes, and you can also just say you're with the Series and sign a waiver (hopefully) at the gate

    And my race reply:

Five for five – that is five races that have essentially come down to the last lap , this time with returning ace Brandon Newey beating Ayla Agren by .042 seconds at the line. Agren and Newey broke away from the field – of which some were involved in a last-lap incident fighting for third at VIR.

Sunday’s race should be equally competitive.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Wasn't sure if we were ever going to get one as I always felt a top 5 was some what of an accomplishment in the series. Everyone seems to bring their "A" game for each event.

Greg & the rest of the team are ones who did all the hard work & development. Without their hard work I would never have had a chance so thank you to them.

Also thank you to the F1600 Series who put on all these great events which also helped me learn & improve as a driver. Thanks to the great competitors as well over the years who also gave me advice & raced cleanly with me.

Thanks guys, it was a special moment to cross that line first!

Congrats, Steve! It was a great race to watch and was happy to see you win it against all those young guns! Well done!
