    Default 25 Hours of Thunderhill

Just when we thought we would wind down the season , this is the busiest it has been since the preparation for runoffs. It has been nonstop in preparation for the 25 Hours of Thunderhill. We have had the Wolf GB08S out 5 times from delivery from Italy and it has been a blast. We learn more and more every time it goes out. Going through all of the systems and refreshing for the major test of 25 hours. This is our first attempt at the 25 and everything is coming together. A major challenge for any team to make sure that everything is in place and every contingency plan is in place and the list goes on and on.

Just got back from testing at Thunderhill last week and everything went well. The weather was perfect and the drivers were very good to the car. ( "Can't work on going faster if you are fixing damaged race cars." - Todd Harris) We had both of the Wolf race cars out during testing. The 2.0L was a lapping work horse for those drivers that haven't driven the course. The V8 GB08S was a rocket, once again. All drivers were easily driving 1:36 with the bypass. Ivan managed to kick out a 1:32.2 and Al Unser III was lapping at 1:33's.

Now it is time to reprogram drivers into conservative mode and put a game plan together to try and win this thing. Anything can happen and we just need to stay out of trouble, drive consistently and not make any mistakes. Oh ya, it is racing...anything can happen. We all ask ourselves; why do we do it?

We are working on Live video feed from inside the car for the race, so stay in touch and I will pass along the link when it comes available.

The JFC Racing Wolf has now lapped the entire field...

Hmm...looks like that may have been an artifact of T & S. They now show having lapped all but 2nd and 3rd. Impressive in any case!

Disregard my previous post. Looks like normal cycling through fuel stops...first 6 cars all appear to be on the same lap.

There are a couple of Apex regulars in the 25. For most of the first 7 hours, Miles Jackson and his JFC Racing Team have held the lead in their Wolf...

Current leader is the Team Quick Racing Products Superlite SLC...

And hoping to move up one spot from last years 2nd step on the overall podium is the Factory 48 Racing Radical SR3...

I see the Wolfe is currently averaging 8 seconds quicker a lap. 13 laps down. Long pit stop ?

It's 34F there now, with the dew point at 29F. That means fog is settling on the ground, which might explain the recent4 minute laps. Stay safe, friends!

I glanced at the results before the screen went blank, so may be a bit off...but this is what I remember.

    3. Radical West SR3 (Factory 48 team car & ESR Winner)
    6. Factory 48 SR3 (2nd in ESR)

There was varying levels of pit stop prowess. One Porsche team would enter and change drivers and leave the pits with a final lap and pit combo time in the 3 minute range. A lot of the others including the Wolf would be in the put 2 sometimes 3 minutes longer. That is a lot of time to make up. The pace of the Wolf was very strong. I haven't heard what broke on the car though to put them out.

I'm guessing the Miata parts that were strewn around the Wolf when it was off track had something to do with its final withdrawal from the event... But yes, holy crap that thing was fast. It was also cool to shake hands with Little Al at the drivers meeting.

It is very quick. At Spa the factory GB08S ran .4 slower than the fastest LMP2 car.

If it was easy anyone could do it. But it's not, and we all know it, so I congratulate our friends for their efforts and wish them better luck next year!
