Any thoughts as to which gearbox to run at Thompson in Connecticut this year?

Best guess is a short box.
Which 3rd gear to be determined later....
Thanks, looking at the layout i was thinking that. Wondering if I should go with the 1.22 or the 1.26...
Don't loose too much sleep over the 3rd gear. The available options are costly and make very little difference for most folks.

I've been using the short box, which works just fine for me...
I definitely wouldn't show up with a 32 3rd unless you like shifting all the time. The 26 will keep you over 6k for the majority of the lap. So...if you have a choice, go with a 22 3rd since any advantage the lower gearing might have may end up as shiny bearing bits in your oil pan!

Thanks for the replies considering going in October and not having to change the transmission might make the decision easier.
I think its a neat track and worth a trip!
Andy make a good point. There are several tracks in the mid west and east coast that require running in 3rd for long periods. Blackhawk and Mid Ohio come to mind. Most folks find it easier to leave the car in third hence run 1.22. I ran both thirds at MIDO and found little difference in an open track. nce you're in traffic the 1.22 is nice since you tend to baulked a bit in the turns. You'll never see that gear run on the west coast since the tracks are more open.
