    Default Need FC Tech help!!

Just getting back into racing this year. I purchased a 95 van deiman. Does this car need intrusion bars? Also who would I contact for tech help for the Maars series?
    Thanks

I can't answer your question because I can think of two definitions of "intrusion bar"
.....one: the piece running front to back between the wide ends of suspension A arms intended to limit an A arms ability to penetrate sideways into the driver's section of the car in a crash. I can't remember ever seeing these years suspension pieces without such.
.....two: slabs of material added/welded to the outer area of the driver's section of the chassis intended to limit intrusion by various things in a crash. But then wouldn't this be an intrusion piece or some other sort of term? What they might really be doing though is limiting frame flexure......there have been threads about that

In a street car I define an intrusion bar as something [sort of like double angled angle iron] inside the door that adds reinforcement in a side impact crash...........my MG years ago had what might as well have been a folded stick of thick aluminum foil even though it was steel.

I hadn't thought of the suspension arm bars. None of my front arms came with them from van diemen. Dave Freitas added them on. I'd guess that most current fabricators build them in.
