    Default 89(?) Caracal D

After reading the thread on the Razor-bodied D I looked more closely at my logbook. The Caracal chassis number has an 89 in it so I assume the chassis was built in 1989. The first logbook entry is from 1991. As an aside, this car originally had the clear bubble front piece though it has since been replaced with aluminum.

    Still for sale.

    Default re: interested

Engine was rebuilt by Noble in early 2011. The last annual was done in August 2013 and I haven't had the car on track since April 2014. This is the "big man" version of the D chassis with extra room at the shoulders. You can see in the bottom photo above where the upper frame bars are "bowed" outward near the rear of the cockpit. 220# may not be an issue (I'm running 185-190 these days and have plenty of room) but the 6'2" could be. The D has a more reclined seating position than a C.
