    Default Clutch disk thickness

    Hello,
Can anyone tell me what the thicknes of a clutch friction disk is when new ?
I'm refering to tilton or quartermaster disks.
Have several on hand that appear only slightly used..wanna see if they are scrap or i can get more time on em.
    Thanks

    Default clutch disk

AP Racing (which has a better center hub) starts the same.
Be sure to check the pressure plate for taper while you have it apart

There is a minumim thickness specified at least on the Tilton install instructions.

Not sure of the top of my head, but they do say that it is ok to resurface them down to a certain minimum thickness.

Also, I would recommend surface or blanchard brinding unless fou can get the ring on the side towards the springs to seta against t=some flat square point on your lathe chuck.

.125 on my 2 race old disk. Check that splines are not pointed, as in worn. Teeth should be flat.

also check for cracks radiating from the circular voids at the ends of the slots. I never noticed them until I cleaned off a disk with brakleen and the combo of the solvent and carbon made a good dye penetrant.

Hey Thanks Guy's for all your valuable input..
I have plenty to look at then but seems I will be able to save a few bucks by refurbishment of these spares..
