Default Wild Horse Pass East This Weekend

The trailer's loaded, final charge going into the jump battery, I'm ready and looking forward to a great time on Saturday (family obligations will take me away Sunday)! It looks to be a beautiful weekend; hope we don't overheat our Canadian visitors.

And if I don't hit anybody on the pregrid we should be fine...

Of course we had fun. I counted 13 EFFs - not the greatest turnout ever but enough for a short track. Had to share with three well-driven Mazdas and a couple of CSRs (one Radical that was a little scary).

Marcel of course embarrassed us all by jumping into the rental DB1 and turning 5th best practice time while stuck in third gear with a snapped shift linkage on his second lap. Hardly your typical arrive and drive gentleman racer, he hopped out, borrowed tools, and had it fixed in maybe 20 minutes. He went on to qualify on the pole, didn't exactly run away from us in the races but was never threatened for overtaking. Too bad Will didn't show up, because he does manage times to compete with Marcel. I'd say Lisa and Jens showed him a good time, though, and there's always tomorrow.

In the back there were about 7 cars running within a second of each other. I couldn't catch up to them after only 13 laps, but there must have been plenty of fun back there. The novice drivers continue to move up the ladder, and one brand new kid performed very respectably (kart experience no doubt responsible for that).

Sorry I won't see y'all tomorrow. Bondo West coming up very soon, though, and I won't even have to change gear ratios. Do have some 1-tooth changes to consider before returning to East, but it's not clear they'd be worth the hassle.
