the factory ecu is good by itself, you might have to call & call around but it is possible, it has been done overseas.

It's all stock electronics local BMW dealer assistants to rewire. It can be done just a lot of work.

did you have to modify or make a adapter plate to mate the motor to the stock Stohr rear differential/spar assembly??

Jason, was your engine in a DSR before you, I'm noticing that it was already in a car... just curious.

Do you have the stock dash and ecu off the same bike, you will also need the handle controls for the left and right side handles. I can already see you starting to steal parts off your BMW bike, no but seriously, you will need a few more things off the bike to make it run. The ecu can always be adapted to the factory dash, that can be done by the dealer tech.
I purchased the service manual cd online but it doesn't have the specific wire schematics to figure out the sensors and what can be taken out. Lets see if we can help each other once we get to that point, I got bitten by the winter bug and been out to the upper peninsula for a while boarding and nordic skiing.... cant wait to get back to the shop. oh one more thing, do you have a header, who made it for you and do you have pics. wondering if its 4-1 or 4-2-1.

@ Benny, get with Wayne Stohr, he probably has the engine mounts in stock or can make them, he also has a carbon fibre oil pan at a good price.

We've had a BMW in the back of our WF1 for 2 years. Still the same engine too.... Gotta love German reliability. Wayne has the motor mounts and oil pan. Getting it in the car was the easy part

@ Keegan, sounds promising that your engine package has been reliable for the last two years, that is really good news, I acquired 3 BMW engines thinking they would be a little fragile... but will wait and see.

@ Don, I'm almost sure Jason is going to be using the factory street stock ecu for now.

I followed yours and you where the one who planted the bmw powerplant seed, but didn't you have to do a different controller and programming etc.. to make it work.

this is the first that I heard of a complete stock ecu and harness etc.being tried.
and if its possible this could be the future for me

so watching and waiting with fingers crossed

Yes I have the motor mounts and oil pan all from Wayne. Yes the stock ecu and all. The local Euro cycle guys are helping me do all the wiring. Stock ECU and a Remade cut down wiring harness. I will take all the help offered for sure. I'll keep updates rolling. We are also putting on a Geartronics so you can imagine Bobby is pulling his hair out and ready to hang me.

That's not completely finished yet but I'll share photos once completed. Evidently it is pretty tuff and a tight fit.

At the moment I've put that project on hold. It's a lot of work and we need time as well as testing.
Right now my Citation is being built back to be ready for Road America it will have the GSXR installed.
