    Default First AutoX of Season

BMW hosted the first event of the Season at Marina last Sat. Weather was Summer perfect, (actually better than most summer days at Marina). With almost 2 months off, I forgot how much fun my car is to drive. The sweeper after the slalom was pretty incredible. I managed TTOD ahead of the other driver of my car(a future FF owner) by about .03, and we were 2.3 sec faster than #3
Here is a link to my photos. http://markm.zenfolio.com/p920609721
I look forward to a long season.

You can try to make a street car into an autocrosser or you can do a lot less work and make a race car into a great autocrosser

118 views and only one response. Doesn't anyone want to come out of their off season winter slumber with a witty reply? Or are all of you too busy working on your cars? Or maybe all of you are on FB now and I've been left behind.
We have another event tomorrow. I put the rains on for it. The worst day of autox is better than the best day of work.

here, 3 responses now, if you count your own

not a lot of autocrossers on here and many are in hibernation from cold and snow so... probably don't want to hear about your opportunity to get seat time right now

    good luck tomorrow

    Default Florida ..........

I believe AutoX'er were @ Fla Gulf Coast U today and @ Sebring Tomorrow - Actually the Club racers are @ Sebring as well BUT pitting/paddock is in "Green Park" so the AutoX'er can use the 12hr Paddock for the course- multi tasking the facility----

yes FL takes full advantage of the winter months to race in all forms. Jun-Aug is when we don't like to race down there!

I however am not down there right now, I'm up in NE!

Since I was stupid enough to leave the SF bay area in 1986 I autocrossed last weekend in my Mustang GT on all season tires. I hope to try the Mustang on borrowed BFG Rivals next weekend at an EVO TnT if weather permits. Temps next Sunday are forecast for highs in the mid 40's. My tow vehicle needs some work and the air and pavement temps need to warm a lot before bringing out the CM car. Thinking about running the Mustang this year after over 20 years of CM. Towing hundreds of miles to major events is getting old so we are experimenting with F Street IF the Rivals feel decent on a stock Mustang and we can handle "roughing it" without the RV during the day.

Very nice. How long does it take to install an oil pump?

Oil pump is piece of cake. Converting a '94 to fit a HPD kit made for a '99 will take some time.

Here is the engine preparation manual that results in a complete dressed engine on a stand. There is another manual for each chassis kit, and another for the electrical system.
