    Default Vector FF

MANY NEW PICS POSTED IN ADDITION TO THOSE IN THIS IMMEDIATE THREAD, SEE THREAD 21!!

I have Vector Serial #MG.96.2000.003FT. This car, I would think to be the lowest milage Vector in existence. I cannot document 15, or for that matter 10 events on this chassis since new. I consider it to be in excellent condition. The car has a fresh Farley engine & new aluminum head having about 10 laps on it at Hallett, Taylor gearbox with alum. Diff., lightened flywheel, new battery, Hi Tech SS Header, 2 sets OZ wheels, Olin TT44 shocks, fresh paint and panels. This car comes with an extensive spares package (spare side body parts-new never mounted/4 noses/suspension/push rods/axles/radiators/spare starter/full set of steel uprights-aluminum on the car/rear bell cranks/etc.). This car has many very nice parts and pieces that cannot be improved on. I can send detailed pics. concerning any area or part of the car and spares if interested. I no longer have the time required to do the racing the way it should be done. PM me here if interested and I will get back to you. $18,000 FOB, my driveway Oklahoma City, OK, thanks.

    Default Honda

One of the engineers at Honda bought Darren Browns Vector about the time I bought this one. He was doing a Honda in that car and was going to create a kit for a Vector as he progressed. That was over a year ago, so I am not sure of the outcome. I forget his name, but he was on Apex from time to time back then.

BTW, Darren Brown still holds the FF clockwise lap record at MSRH in that Vector.

    Default Darren Brown

BTW, he was <1second off the lap record at Hallet in a Vector. This is the main reason I bought this car, for the $ it had more potential that any I could think of, pretty simple.

The Vectors are fantastic cars. I think they are as capable of any of the new cars of today. Once you get the mono shock set properly they are quick, light, and pretty easy on tires.

Plus you can't go wrong with a Farley motor. His motors were in my Vector and old DB-1, neither car was ever hurting for power.

Joe good luck with the sale, car looks great.

Thanks Darren. Good story,,,, I bought this car and Wendell said "you bought WHAT??", in a way you would have to know Wendell. I told him that you had gone very quick/19 flat at Hallett in one. He said "well, well, well, you are not Darren Brown", good stuff. Yes, this motor is brand new fresh, new head and internals, a lot of cool parts and spares. Could be an affordable solid car for someone, wish I had the time to develop it. Oh well.

Yes, Joe, some of us certainly can imagine how Wendell would say that! I should note that Joe has a lot of experience building up very nice cars.

Well, I have known him for about 40 years, literally. He is not going to cut you much slack unless you have done it. 20 flat is about all I could do in a db1 or a db6, so I got it in my face via the great man.

another plug here for Mr Spain...first class guy and his cars are absolutely top shelf relative to prep and finish. Virtually a new car for the price of a used swift...

Hey, thanks for the nice comment!! I have been accused of prepping and tweaking and polishing and aligning to the point that I never went to the races. This one has one of my cosmic daygo paint jobs, not even a rock chip. A very nice example. The few laps I drove it it seemed well balanced, stopped straight and the turn in was nice and crisp. Hmmmm, maybe I should just keep it. Heck, I even have enough parts here to turn it over a couple of times.

No, just the gauges/see new pics that were in the car. I dislike wires a lot. That was to be the next project though. I will get the body off this thing and get some more pictures this weekend. New MoMo steering wheel, and did a really nice seat. I am about 5' 10"/170. Good elbow room in this car, I can even latch the belts, unlike a swift.

This is so much car for that asking price, it's ridiculous. I wish I was in the market. Someone is going to get very lucky with this one.

Man O Man, if anyone is looking to buy I can attest to the workmanship of Joe's rebuilds. His rebuilds are new cars. I bought a FF from Joe, raced it three years and sold it for more than I paid him. Wished I had pulled the trigger on the Swift he had several years back but hesitated and lost out. Joe, who did the seat?

    Default Vector Comments

Just wanted to thank everyone for the nice comments about this car, from those that I know, and those that I don't know. I told a gentleman that had inquired about it that if it needed anything else to be presentable to the best of my knowledge and ability I would have already corrected it. I have always thought, kart, midget, formula car, door slammer, if it was clean and cosmetically nice one could best see what was getting ready to fall off. It costs just as much to go to the race, even if you don't race due to some dastardly preventable prep.

    A driver fit question - how about 5-10 / 210#? With a wide torso?

Has anyone had experience autocrossing a Vector?

    Thanks in advance
