    Default Any hill climbers?

I keep seeing that this is an Autocross and Hillclimb forum. I have not seen any Hc posts. Is anyone doing it in a FF? There is an event sort of locally every year and I consider it each year. Just wondering if I could get a head start on what it would take. Firmer tires than autoX? Stiffer suspension? What else?

You can try to make a street car into an autocrosser or you can do a lot less work and make a race car into a great autocrosser

    Default Chasing the Dragon

In North Carolina there is "Chasing the Dragon" twice a year. 2014 will be on March 22 & 23 and then on September 13 & 14. http://www.dragonhillclimb.com/

    Setup depends on the course.

Your car is too new but, SOVREN (vintage racers) have a hill climb every year up near Portland, Oregon called the Mary Hill Hill Climb.

It also includes wine tasting and lots of good eating along the way.

Rick, wouldn't this hurt your run times?

Maryhill is a great road - but somewhat dangerous in an open wheel car.

My co-driver myself run the knox mountain hill climb in Kelowna and will be back there this year. Here's a video of him driving:

I first was introduced to Auto Racing when I was a kid by watching Pennsylvania hill climb association events. I watched for years, hoping to race one day. PHA drivers are a great group of guys that will do anything for a fellow driver. +1 for PHA

Wow. They go to a lot of work to set up that course. Do you know what your max speed was?

Yep, it's right at the edge of a town, with houses built on the mountain. Having a crash start a fire would not be good. The level of prep is, however, reflected in the entry fee.

I think we are hitting 110mph or so before turn 7... I don't quite remember =)

My locost doesn't quite qualify as an open wheel car but there are sometimes some FFs and a few older lola's that run with the NW hillclimb group. http://www.nhahillclimb.org/

They run a few hillclimbs out of northern cali and southern oregon as well as Maryhill and a few out in Idaho.

I went to two events for the first time this last year and was totally hooked after my first outing. they are SO much fun!

I'm intending on trying to go to all of their events this year.

I really recommend going out to an event - even if you don't run it's a great experience - go sit at one of the safety spots up the hill and watch cars go flying by.

    Default Hillclimbing in the NW

We have a series of hillclimbs in the NW in CA, OR, WA, and ID run by the Northwest Hillclimb Assoc. (NHA) and local sponsoring clubs (usually AX clubs) . See www.nhahillclimb.org .
We would love to share and communicate with other US hillclimb organizations.
