    I'm going.

Question - I registered - and there was no option to add a codriver... Should we just do it at registration, or does it matter?

    Pray for no snow :-)

Oh, also... if you know of anyone looking for a codriver or such (Or a rental..I'll pay!) for a non-group-4 race, fwd them along. I'd love to have a little bit more track time at the end of the year. Especially would be nice to run something on Saturday.

    Mike,
As far as a Saturday co-drive goes....try submitting a thread on Midwestern Council forums.

As for you registering a co-driver in your car....I know it can be done....try contacting the registrar,

This year, try to pit before you run out of gas! (LOL)

    Thanks Jack.

The glitch in the fuel has been resolved. By selling the car and buying one with a bigger (yet not big enough!) fuel cell.

And... last year, I ran out just at pit-in, where Brad came to my rescue and dragged me into the pits. This year, HE is driving the second have of the race - thus, I get the same end game but without running out of fuel. Isn't that a great idea? Right. Just agree.

The Lake Effect team is pumped. This race was a blast last year, and we hope to do well this year.

What are the rules for the crew coming over the wall to help with the driver change and refueling?(helmets, firesuit, number of crew) Thanks in advance.

most of your answer is in 5.4 of supps

    5.4 Co-Drivers - Chicagoland’s Loooong Race
5.4.1. Co-drivers must complete 25% of race laps to be eligible for points
    and trophy.
5.4.2. A driver change slip must be turned in at the head of the pit lane at
the beginning of each session and any time a driver change takes
place. Procedures will be detailed at the drivers meeting.
5.4.3. Any refueling during the race must be done with the engine off and
the driver out of the car. A crew member must stand by with a fire
extinguisher provided by the entrant. Pit lane fire extinguishers
provided by the facility are for emergency use ONLY. All crew
involved in the refueling must be wearing long pants, long sleeved
shirt, closed shoes, a balaclava and eye protection. Any car using
an auxiliary fuel tank fitted for this event must be inspected by
    Tech.
5.4.4. Qualifying time used for race grid must be that of the driver starting
    the race.
5.4.5 There is no smoking allowed in the Pit lane at any time. Drivers are
responsible for the conduct of their crew and compliance to this
rule. Race teams violating this supplemental rule are subject to
disqualification and ejection from the event.

    complete sups here:
    http://myautoevents.com/pls/mae/frmE...event_id=13723

Having a properly clothed and dedicated crew member holding a firebottle during refueling
is the big requirement, probably good job for the exiting driver,
don't know of a limit on # of crew over the wall,

    GOOD LUCK

Cindy: Nor way on the soup :-) Temporary-Miata-man and I did a little ketchup on the drive home, and relished the fact that Jeff ladled out of chili so I'm going to mustard up some chili to fill the gap.
    </food punny>

Marc: Johnny V short shifts and runs the entire race on the Piper's 6gal cell... I can't see myself doing that :-) Brad is going to co-drive with me, so after 22 laps or so (44 miles), we'll stop yank me out, throw 3-4 gallons of fuel in along with Brad to finish the race.

If we can run 4 seconds a lap quicker, there's a chance we can be very competitive overall... it all depends how fast the FA or DSR guys go. If there's a guy out there running 1:05's, might ask him to pull over before his final lap to let us commoners get some more laps :-)
