I heard that this was another fun weekend and there was a very nice cook out/party on Saturday night. I also heard the Canadians had a LOT of fun, and we thank you guys for making the trip down.
Two weeks until the final race of the season at Nelson Ledges. If more than 20 cars show up, everyone in the group gets a $25 refund on the entry. Hope to see everyone there, I just put my entry in tonight.

This weekend was a blast. Lots of good racing & it was nice to see our northern counterparts make the trip. Hopefully I get a chance to head north soon to race.

    2 things quick, though....
1, would it be possible to make all the series pics public from that PB account?
2, how are points being done at the next Nelson race? is it just 2 points races?

    Matt:

It's my understanding that both of Saturday's races count towards this years totals
and Sundays results wil be applied towards next years results! Hope you can make
it down and why did you DNF on Sunday?

Hey Mark. Yea, I posted that, then I just saw Greg's group email explaining it more. I think I may actually come, as I've had offers for help & such that I have a hard time turning down, but we'll see. The 22 points to Greg for 3rd is a bit of a carrot on stick, albeit a long stick.

I DNFd on Sunday because the carb I tried using plain quit running right after lap 1. I was still battling a case of the sputters, so I put a new one on. No clue why it worked perfect for 1 lap, then could barely keep the engine going. Pretty frustrating. On a side note, watching the race parked on the NASCAR chute is a neat perspective.

    Matt,

I have a spare carb you can use if you need it to run at Nelson's?

Thanks for the offer, Mark. I may take you up on that, but I might be able to work something out in the meantime. We'll see. I need to at least get the carb & shocks worked on before then at a minimum.

Actually, I think my Dad has a set of Carreras I could bolt on if needed, but I would really like to get to use my Penskes again. I had them rebuilt & stuff, but the seals blew & the oil dumped out of them. *Shouldnt* be too hard to get them going again.

You can borrow my black Penskes if you want. It'll cost you 1 beer though. I have a completely disassembled Womer if you need to borrow anything else. Everything is only a 45 min drive from Nelson Ledges.

    Matt:

You can borrow my blue set of AFKO's but it will cost you TWO beers for the priviledge of using them!

Holly S_____ who ran the Formcar. Looks pretty vintage to me. It's an effort to make one SCCA legal and run at a regional. Was it the oldest car there that weekend or was is looking new because of some Bugeye or Spitfire?
Kudos to the Formcar and it's driver.

    Butch,

I believe it was the pacecar for the FV only race!

    Butch,
Rick Hughey, who is the owner/driver of the Formcar pictured, kindly agreed to pace the field and use it as the honorary pace car for our Sunday race. He was therefore appropriately featured at the front of the finishing order for the post-race group photo.

A great guy who went out of his way to help make our event such a success. He even pitched in to help me with repairs to my car after I had problems in Saturdays race! A true racer and you should hear some of his stories of working for the Tyrell F-1 team back in the day!

It was nice to have you guys down. Hopefully we do get a new CanAm FV series working & make a trip up! And I have to say I was surprised that, based on all my knowledge of Canada coming from TV, that all of your cars weren't square-ish & your heads were one piece....

Its an amazing track with nose to tail 8-10 car lead pack racing. I also hope the CAN-AM series works out and we can get more cars at both venues next season.

Second what Matt said. I too hope the Can-Am series is a go for next year. Fantastic track and thanks again to everyone for having us Canucks down. Great racing throughout the field. Rob Murray
