Yes, I will be leaving class and probably no more SCCA racing. Maybe take a couple of steps down and buy a new Corvette for time trials.

    Bruce,
I went the other way, out of Corvettes and into FE. It is definitely going to be a step backwards and considerably more expensive! Tires for my C6 Z06 were around $2200 and brakes/rotors around $1000 (needed every 3 weekends). 3000 lb cars are not kind to tires and brakes! While I was fortunate not to have any crash damage in HPDE / time trial, it certainly would not have been cheaper either!

    Mikey,
I am not doing it for cost. Certainly you can't beat an FE for low cost high performance racing. I even saved money over my Club Formula Ford I was racing. Really low maintenance unless you crash-- and then replacing a corner is a small fraction of what it would be in a tin (or plastic) top car. I just need to step down from the anxiety and get into something slower. OR do you think I should get a BRZ?

It depends if you still want to race or if you are looking to do track days. You should look at the SRF. I have one that i race some weekend when there are no FE's to play with and it is a blast to drive and race and it is not nearly as physical as a formula car. If you want to give one a try i will gladly let you take mine out for a session anytime

Actually I'll be driving a Gen III SRF this Sunday at NHMS! I got Shawn Morrison into the COMSCC school as my student for testing the car.

That Gen III SRF sounds a hell of a lot better! Higher revving and no muffler is still within sound limit.

If you want to break up, I'm interested in just the Traqmate.

If not, no worries. Just PM me. Thanks.
