    Default FST to FV

Formula First drivers; It seems whoever is leading this pack of F/FST racers is doing a very Good job. The growth of the class proves that, so why would any of you want to turn the class over to a competition board that did not approve the class? Be sure you understand that this is an entry level class and needs understanding leadership.

Bud, 100% agreed, I don't want the SCCA to touch us. We will use their races and insurance, etc. but we (FFDA) will maintain our own rules hopefully. Currently the FFDA membership has a private website/forum where we discuss any future changes, race series events etc. We always reach consensus and have even allowed an exception to the rules on an individuals car due to hardship, etc. Being at a race all paddocked together with a bunch of open minded great guys has made the racing even more fun than just the FST's themselves. When / if it goes national or the FFDA looses this control.

There are generally speaking 2 of us professional engine builders with equipment sophisticated enough to make recommendations on engine parts and design. (Although several successful cars are using "homebuilt" engines.) In a typical FFDA race you can cover the first 5 cars with a blanket. Seldom is any race decided until the last 1/2 lap whether it is a $2500 motor or a $4500 one.
