    Bill:

I read your race reports and watched the pictures with great interest but a crucial piece of information seems to be missing: did you improve your mileage while towing the Silverbullet FST .

    Funny you should ask......

I typically tow to the track with my "safari roof rack" that holds rains and a few tote boxes. Fuel mileage is about 27 mpg. This time, I did not use the roof rack and got almost 34 mpg while towing the Silver Bullet. So I guess the answer is yes, I did improve mileage. However, now I have to find a new place to hide my rains while towing in the future

How about installing a spare Silverbullet bodywork over the safari roof rack?

Bill, the FST records thread lists this as the existing record:

    Road America
    2:39.053 Jason Steeb 8/13/11

    Stan,

Yes, Doug's lap is the official race record. Jason's time of 2:39.0 was a recorded "fast lap" in qualifying. The thread referenced is to give reference to quick lap times and nothing official. Hence the title of the thread: Fast laps and Record Laps http://www.apexspeed.com/forums/show...06&postcount=1

    Default ???

    Stan,

I just don't know whats right.

My records show that Jason has the track record per our time and Doug has the qualification fast time of 2.38.6

However the Cen Div official web site says differently.

    http://www.cendiv-scca.org/03racing/...ckrecords.html

    Who knows at this point.

RGU is spot on. That thread was started to give cross reference of FST lap times/speeds vs. other classes. It is not meant to be anything more (not offical and not always correct ).

Robert, get me the date of Doug's 2:38.6 and the info will be changed on the thread.

Remember guys, this is meant to be for fun, not perfect

It would be nice if you could go back further than 2012 in the SCCA - Chicago Region site for past results. I was trying research this situation but no luck there. Like Bill said - all for fun!!!

    Default I checked Mylaps

I got my "lucky draft on all straights" 2:38.628 last year during Saturday qualifying (8/25/12). (Changed)

Jason got his 2:39.053 in qualifying on 8/13/11. He backed that up with a new race lap record of 2:39.679 the next day on 8/14/11.

Relax guys, I was just wondering about the discrepancy, thinking maybe Bill had missed it.

That said, records ARE important, so my preference would be to list only officially recorded racing laps, unless explicitly stated. Otherwise pretty soon we'd be listing T5 to T5 records (1:55 for DSR and 1:59 for FA and CSR that I know of), and other such shenanigans.

    Oh...and congrats to Mr Seim!

You are very welcome. Sure wish I could have been on the other side of the lens

There is an enjoyment of being the un-official FST press when not racing.

    Brian,

Great pics, thanks! Think I might have had to protest the front beam on the black #52 FST though Does anyone know the make of the 3 spoke wheels on the blue FF?

    Default Points after Road America

FFDA Points are updated at: http://formula-first.org/2013_fst_schedule.htm

Lots of movement in the points race. But Doug Seim is going to be tough to beat with that lead. ALMOST his mathematically.
