I use black plastic "Extra Large Trash Bags" from Home Depot sku#o73257 01214...50 bags 50 gallon 1.1 mil thick. Just rite 4 a stack of 4 FF wheels. About $15 the box.
But.....here's something if you want to do hermetically sealed....

At that price for us to pay shipping from NC to CA probably wouldn't be worth it. You can buy a full box from the same source Pru and I did with no shipping charge or buy a single roll from McMaster for about $23 plus shipping from their LA warehouse.

Pallet wrap is probably more of an "autocrosser" thing, especially for those of us who tow long distances on open trailers. Bags are fine once the tires are off the car.

Black Pallet Wrap...
Prior to driving back through the paddock, most of those running FF in Solo wrap their tires post completion. It started roughly ten years ago as a means to keep the hot tires clean from rocks, rubber, trash, etc. while driving back to the trailer. The original recommendation was to the remove the wrap later in the day once the tires had cooled. Well, it did not take long before it was discovered that leaving the wrap on until the tires were ready to run again was the way to go. Not only does it keep the tires clean on the way back up to grid, it was found the after removing the wrap that the tires were noticeably "stickier" (technical term). This was true regardless of the duration of storage, so yes, I think it can be safely stated that wrapping your tires will slow the rate of degradation. Due to their soft construction and infrequent use, rain tires are ideal candidates.
Now the type of wrap has been up for debate for some time now. Some like the clear stuff, but I have found the heavier black pallet wrap to works best. I found the best source to be eBay. For about $12.50 for a 1500' roll delieved to your door, you'll have roughly a four year supply.

I'll split a box with you if your interested.
Guys before you think 4 1500 foot rolls is a lot of wrapped tires you might want to do some math given that each tire needs about 6 feet of material for each layer. I generally use 3 layers for open trailer towing and for storage. Therefore about 75 feet for each event. 1500 feet provides about 20 "wrappings" for me.
