Whichever one you have.
With only 1 slow 3rd gear corner, the advantages and disadvantages of each will offset each other when climbing the hill. Perhaps one could be better with one or the other on a particular day but that would be situational dependant on the hp and gearing of the competitors you are racing with.
I would choose the 1.22 if I had to choose one. If you have hp, you will be strong climbing the hill. If you don't, you won't. You just need to make sure its a shortbox.

Thanks, I have both and currently run the 1:26 short, but coming out of 5 everyone seems to pull me by 5 cars lenghts and I have a tough time even drafting. So you answered my question.

I ran a 1.22 3rd. Pretty sure most if not all cars are.
There was some speculation that steveb may have had a different 3rd gear. But it was never confirmed.

We have had different transmissions in the silver #7 with no noticeable difference. We have also had two engines (with similar dyno numbers) and he likes one better for climbing the hill. Also, had the best engine in another Mysterian, and not as fast. There were some early Mysterians with unmatched and unexplained aero properties, which, with top engine, and top driver, were very tough to beat.
I tried a dozen different gearing combinations in FFs. When you have HP, you climb the hill, when you don't, you don't. My comments come with the assumption that the rest of the car is proper. You may have transmission issues, but IMO, not the selected 3rd gear ratio.
Weight is also a critical factor.

Thanks Greg for the insight. Yes I agree weight is an issue as well. Thanks and good luck at the Glen

I have a different engine this year...but same transmission (1:22).
Last year...I didn't shift until half way up the hill...and still below my redline.
This new engine hits my conservative redline at the first bridge.
I agree 100 pct on what greg has provided
There's a few ways to skin it.
If your not picking up rpm on your own up the hill. Then you could use a little more HP.
Aero,HP, weight and drag are all big factors obviously.
I remember changing head scoops on my BRD and picked up a small but noticeable difference on the back straight up the hill years ago. And the wind was consistent.
Even ride heights and toe can have an impact if all your care about is staright line speed
